I am intrigued about how the story will progress from here but at the same time so much of the bigger picture remained hidden that I didn't feel as invested as I usually would by this point in a series. A fierce best-seller that gave birth to Korea's new feminist movement, Kim Ji-young, Born 1982 evokes the defeat that is experienced by the protagonist in a society where patriarchy reigns in every aspect of a woman's life. The paperback edition, published in 2022, amends the title to Fallen Idols: History is not erased when statues are pulled down.

Dol, Ro, Tima, and Lucas are the four Icon Children, the only humans immune to the Icon's power to stop a human heart. Not everyone there wanted to be an idol, but it kind of reminded me of some of my favourite idol series, so I found that pretty fun. There are a lot of mysteries that still need to be solved in this story and I'm still confused about the limits that idols have when it comes to the range of gifts they can possess.

He says clearly: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name… I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them (Ezekiel 36:22, 23).
