The dedicated DPI indicator can be set to any value and colors you choose (requires software), so you always know your value when adjusting on the fly. The skates stop gliding as easily after a bit, so they still do well but the smoothness you experience on the first day isn’t consistent after that. Finally, once the grip tape is properly applied, use a sharp hobby knife or scissors to trim any excess grip tape from around the edges of your mouse. Trimming the edges gives your mouse a clean and finished look. And when it comes to the D or O shape, you’ll probably feel more at home with one than the other, based on the shape you’ve spent more time with. My hand is permanently molded around a Microsoft IntelliMouse shape now, so the O feels like home. If you spent your formative years with an asymmetrical shape, the D is better suited. And if you don’t like RGB, Zowie’s FK range is still your best bet.

Model D’s HoneyComb Shell is the key to achieving a feather-light weight while maintaining its ultra-durable strength. You’ll barely feel the holes during gameplay, but they provide ventilation to keep your palms cool & fresh. Cleaning the Model D is easy, just use any air canister to keep your mouse good as new. You can use the spudger or knife on its own without using the hairdryer, especially if you're unsure of how long to heat the feet up by. This may leave traces of glue on the bottom of the mouse however, which will need to be removed before attaching the new mouse feet. For me, the design is as much an aesthetic choice as anything else. I can't tell you how much weight the mouse loses because of the holes, or whether they make a meaningful impact on its movement. I can tell you that it looks sharp and interesting. Before applying the grip tape, it is essential to clean your mouse to remove any dirt or oils that may interfere with the grip tape's adhesion. Use a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol to gently clean the surface of your mouse, taking care not to damage the coating. Make sure to remove all the dirt and oil residues, especially around the edges of your mouse.

Less visually appealing is the branding on the Model D-. The snooty reputation of the so-called Glorious PC Gaming Race is embodied through a picture of its mascot where your thumb goes, as well as on the mouse’s underside. There’s also a more forgivable and smaller “Glorious” stamp on the right side. Unlike many esports mice, the Model D does not eschew RGB lighting. In fact, thanks to the honeycomb chassis, it can be very colorful if you want it to be. There are three lighting elements on the mouse: the piping on the scroll wheel, and two strips of RGB lighting on either side of the top panel. Because you can see through to the inside, the lighting fills up the space inside the mouse. The whole body takes on an ambient glow, plus you can see the sensor and parts inside. Driving the Model D Though the ergonomic design is straightforward, I loved the robust nature of this mouse. The wonderful curves sit perfectly in your right hand. Furthermore, the 2 additional side buttons are perfectly placed. Subsequently, when they are mapped, they make this a versatile accessory that changes the way you play. Be careful when using the hairdryer too, as you want to avoid overheating the mouse, which can cause damage to your mouse (plastic melting or warping) and also cause injury to yourself, so proceed with caution. Due to the honeycomb design, you’ll collect an insane amount of dust depending on your environment.Let’s start by stating the obvious: The Model D- isn’t the perfect mouse for trying to run a World of Warcraft raid or fly a plane in the new Microsoft Flight Simulator. Its six-button layout is intended very much for shooters, and it’s in shooters where our testing primarily lies.

That may have as much to do with its size and shape as the weight. At 5.04 by 2.64 by 1.65 inches, the Model D is slim but shapely. My hand fits perfectly into position when gripping it. Though it's relatively low, its sloped shape guides your hand into a proper palm form, draping your hand in the most comfortable way. That said, while the shape creates an exceptional fit, the base's low slope does not provide as much ergonomic support as it could, particularly for the base of your thumb. Its a really good mouse, great sensor, light, feels great in hand, only thing id worry about is build quality, obvs because its perforated, it would probably break after having a heavy textbook dropped on it. But if you don't really put your mouse in those type of situations then you're good. When you're looking to switch out your skates, you’ll need to choose replacements that fit your specific model of mouse due to each mouse having a different layout on its base where the skates are installed. The exception being brands who use the same mouse chassis for multiple models, but that will be mentioned on the skates product description. We did not notice any lag, stutter or drops in the wireless performance, and the sensor was able to keep up with our erratic movements with ease. There was also no discernible difference between the wireless and wired mode, either. Don’t let competitors fool you with inflated stats on low-quality switches. Model D comes with state-of-the-art Omron switches, with the highest durability rating and quality control standards. The Model D will outlive other inferior gaming mice.Due to the honeycomb design, you’ll collect an insane amount of dust depending on where you’re sitting and unfortunately for me, I sit next to a 6ft open door which means the dust particles think my setup is mumbai train station, so I can see a lot of dust inside my model D. Also, don’t spill water or any liquid on the mouse or else you will be crying that whole week. With a little preparation and some simple steps, you can enjoy better control and performance like the pros. The switches on the LMB and RMB perform similarly, as well. Co-developed by Kailh, these switches are satisfyingly crispy (although not as sharp as mechanical switches), and have very little pre-travel for snappy performance. The scroll wheel in this model, as with other Glorious mice, has a notched scroll style and doesn’t feature inputs by nudging it to either side. It proved well-suited to shooters too. In these games, you want clearly defined scroll inputs for changing weapons or zoom levels but don’t want to accidentally fire off your special with a heavy-handed nudge.
