In un libro si deve trovare il modo di condurre il lettore a capire quello che lo scrittore ha in mente. As the reader is slowly made aware of her background, and the dire circumstances of her youth, it becomes impossible not to feel a deep empathy for her. Someone has also set fire to the front of the building to tidy up any loose strings that may lead to the killer.

Years later, a headmistress is found brutally strangled, the first in a spate of gruesome murders which shock the Black Country. Book Addict Shaun on Play Dead --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title. But, the finale, blindsided me, really, really taking me by surprise, and left me flabbergasted and speechless. When an application to dig the grounds of an long abandoned childrens home is granted, the truth is about to be revealed to the whole world. It’s difficult to imagine this author improving, but from what I have been told this is exactly what Angela Marsons does! The forensic evidence adds tiny details that bring a true crime feel to the story, also adding some crucial clues needed to solve the case. With just over three weeks to go until the release of Dead Souls, the sixth book in the Kim Stone series by Angela Marsons, I thought it was an opportune moment to go back and look over the first five books in the series. Not only were there victims within the book, but I was also victim to the epic abilities of the author to reel in the reader and leave them there, helpless but desperate to find out more and more and MORE!

As the story progressed, my interest did not flag for one moment, and the last 15% of the book was crazy good! It’s like taking a cooking class where they give you cooked food instead of teaching you how to cook it. I am not ashamed to admit that this author has the ability to inspire such emotion in me for her expertly drawn characters that I rarely finish without an eye malfunction of some kind. If I wasn't so knocked off just now I would have read this in one sitting, it is a great introduction to what I am told is a fantastic series.

And then towards to end when she breaks into the former children’s home to look for something, All ALONE at night. She seems coming out of a recipe: 1 cup of rhetoric, mixing it with 1 cup of defiance, some pseudo-humor, a teaspoon of immaturity… and there you go!

I was hooked from the first page and Having read all of KL Slater's previous novels I took the precaution of clearing my afternoon and evening before reading the first page and I'm glad I did as I barely moved from my sofa until I'd reached the end. Amongst my Goodreads friends I have only seen good comments on this author's books so I had to give her a try, starting with the first book in the series of course. Kaufempfehlung für alle, die Spaß an der detailreichen Darstellung von Polizeiarbeit und Psychogrammen haben. This is Marsons' debut novel, but you already feel the vibration of something grand about to happen from the first page onward. As usual the author steered me in the wrong direction numerous times, making me think I had an idea what was going on only to pull the rug from under my feet time after time.

Some of the niceties are going to fall by the wayside as she works her cases, she can come across as rude, cold and without emotion, but the compassion is in there, buried deep. Book 3 has just gone in to editor a …more Hi Helena, yes there are definitely more Kim Stone books to come. There is a reference, in one conversation between one cop to another with a reference to the place and it being the inspiration for a very famous place in another book. But this killer has never taken into account that Stone can make connections like a bloodhound on steroids. Für den ersten Band (englische Version) der Kim Stone Reihe kann ich nur die anderen Rezensionen bestätigen. Angela Marsons is the Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author of the DI Kim Stone series and her books have sold more than 5 million in 7 years.
