A gripping, touching story by any measure, however, what I found most fascinating about this book, was its superbly creative presentation.Sam is still embarrassed to be seen with Davey, but little by little he has to admit that when it’s just the two of them, Davey is a lot of fun. It is a lovely story of friendship, betrayal, and regret, but also of understanding and facing consequences. It could be used for PHSE sessions but I have read it out loud to 3 different year 5 / 6 classes and they all got engrossed in the plot beyond the poetry.
