Description

A common issue that people experienced with the second generation of ANBERNIC handhelds is the barebones nature of the interface. It does work; we tried and tested some N64 games that worked “ok”, but this isn’t a handheld we enjoyed playing the best N64 games on.

The first generation of ANBERNIC RetroGame handhelds contains only one member, and was relatively short-lived compared to other generations. screen for some weeks and I must admit that, although I thought the matrix issue would be a deal breaker, it actually wasn’t. I’m also not entirely sure why Anbernic decided to include just a single joystick, when a pair of them makes playing many 3D PlayStation games much easier. Once you run it, you’ll see a command prompt asking you to confirm which device the Adam image is going to be used in.Second-generation ANBERNIC handhelds can emulate most platforms up to PS1 without many, if any issues. Because your index fingers slide up the side of the handheld, this adds a lot of security to the console when playing. To try a different emulator, press SELECT on the game selection screen, then change the Emulator setting ( LEFT/RIGHT on the D-PAD). The RG280V is targeting retro gamers who want a more portable console, and those who want superb build quality that lasts.

It was barely pocketable, and the same can be said for the RG351V, which is more or less the same size as Nintendo’s classic handheld. The RG280V also features the external-boot-SD improvements brought about by the RG350M, making it easier to adjust your setup (no more tinkering around with screws). Brandon is the founder of RetroDodo and created a YouTube channel with 240,000 subscribers dedicated to retro gaming products. Note: Both the RG280V and RG300X have the same chipset as the RG350 so any guides for the latter will work on your device as well! For anything newer than the PS1 (as well as contemporary devices like the Sega Saturn), performance does vary wildly from game to game.
