Description

With many new sets launching during its period of availability it should not be too difficult to find something to buy to acquire it.

Dumping out the contents, you get a instructions booklet and five bags of pieces. Note that they are not numbered. However, its not unusual as this set isn’t that big. Ben Fogle Forged a successful career as a broadcaster, writer and adventurer. He has
presented TV shows including One Man and his Dog, Countryfile and documentaries. Real Value [4]– Plenty of October releases makes this good value as you’ll likely end up getting one You also build a brown treasure chest. There are some red diamonds crystals inside. The treasure chest can be closed. Ray can spend time cooking with the campfire. He has a pan and can roast the fish that he caught. A blue and yellow parrot sits on top. This is a pretty neat looking parrot. There’s also a nice big red crab nearby. There are lots of details in this set and they include 2 snakes. A yellow swim tube is also here too. There’s a nice clear beer bottle and there’s a starfish too. Finally we should talk about that roof. This was the first time in a long while that I broke a set during construction while trying to get those clips attached to that central bar. I attribute this to the new, more open design of Ray’s hut compared to Daditwins’ submitted design. Judging Phase – Our judges review the entries and choose 15 entries, which will then go forward to a Fan Vote, on May 18th, 2021. Ron was 44 when, in 1999, a friend showed him an ad looking for volunteers to take part in the Castaway project. Here, we have already added a yellow starfish on the blue base as well as a clear bottle in the ocean.

Voting Phase – LEGO Ideas members will then have the opportunity to vote once, for their favorite entry from May 18th, 2021 until May 25th, 2021. Ray is fortunate to have been castaway on a very pleasant-looking island, with lush vegetation, colourful animals and vibrant blue sea surrounding it. He's been able to fashion a shelter from available resources and looks to have an abundant supply of fish for sustenance. And the people making these shows should be more respectful of the lives contestants will have when the cameras stop rolling. When events were shown on TV months later, it had all been edited and manipulated to make it look like I had thrown the chair at a woman on the island in a drunken rage – and that never happened.” The design is clearly an homage to Tom Hanks’ Castaway, but there isn’t a volleyball, which was also not present in the original design. I’m not sure if that was too on the nose, but it shouldn’t be too hard to add your own Wilson volleyball (especially if you draw on one!) to the set to make it a proper Tom Hanks tribute! Gordon and the Carey family
Seventh Day Adventists Gordon and Cassie Carey quit with their two children after claiming they had been bullied because of their religious beliefs.

Ray the Castaway is a fan design submitted by DadiTwins, and as you can see from the original design, has mostly kept the aesthetics and overall look, with a few small tweaks. The minifigure of Ray looks suitability dishevelled, although his face looks far too angry as it uses a previously available head. I suppose if you were stranded on an island in the middle of the seas, you’d be quite angry. After Castaway, Ron finished his training to become a qualified counsellor and over the last two decades has treated many high-profile celebrities and former contestants of reality TV shows.

LEGO IDEAS 40566 Ray the Castaway is a really neat and cool set that has lots of playable features. Although its small, LEGO fans can recreate many castaway scenes on the desert island. These include cooking with the campfire, exploring all the small animals nearby, resting in the shelter, enjoying the shade under the nice palm trees or exploring the oceans with the raft. Overall, this is a nice set. The complete set took about 45 minutes to build and that includes sorting the pieces too. That said, Ray the Castaway is a bit of an exception, as it didn’t go through the typical 10,000 votes and review round process, as it was the winning entry in the Do You Want To Go To The Seaside LEGO Ideas competition, following in the footsteps of recent LEGO Ideas GWPs like 40533 Cosmic Cardboard Adventures, 40448 Vintage Car and 40487 Sailboat Adventures,

It’s a fun little set, with a couple of great use of parts to add unique details. The palm trees are interesting as they have the new multiple stem flower elements under each leaf, giving them extra texture. The S.O.S message is also clever, using two snake decorations often found in the NINJAGO sets as S’s and a lifesaver ring for the O. Roger and Rosemary Stephenson and their children Roger is now a retired GP, while Rosemary is active in the local community. Here, we have the LEGO Ray minifigure. He has a gray piece where he can look for things far away. Ray has a nice beard, printed torso and red shorts. His skin tone is yellow which is the traditional classic skin tone of LEGO minifigures.

Valid from October 1-13, 2022 or while supplies last. For those living in Australia, the promo gift set is now sold out at LEGO Shop at Home Australia. Realistic details – The desert island model features a buildable shelter, raft and palm trees, plus a Ray minifigure and parrot, crab and 2 fish figures
