The dark side of all of what's come before is hinted at and its more difficult to find the simple family element as the tangents of the former books and storylines are traveled. After a year or two at UTMB he became bored and taught himself entirely too much about networking, programming, and database design and administration. Michael has written a fascinating story with many dark twists and turns that has left me eagerly awaiting the next installment in this series!

Moria is now one of my favorite characters with levels of depth previously unseen and a really interesting new look at the different types of mages within the world. Thornbear got a higher rating from me only because it is slightly less annoying reading a male teenager than a female teenager. If you like fantasy, wizards, dragons and have a good sense of humor you will find yourself reading this books more than once.
