For high-output lights, one of the lux meters uses an ND camera filter to prevent the lux meter to max out. This is either the Kenko PRO1D ND16 up till about 80,000 lumens or Gobe ND32 for anything above. It’s using TIR optics with 2 LEDs sitting in the center of each optic. In my sample, the TIR optics had some kind of damage or dirt in the optics. This is invisible in the beam, but you can definitely see it in my close-up pictures.
