Not only that, but under the hood you'll find Logitech's durable GX switches, which manage to evade that scratchy feel sometimes felt in Cherry models that are plugged into the vast majority of decks. The key switches may have special appeal for those who aren't satisfied by the half-dozen or so flavors of Cherry switch in common circulation. Sleek Design: With aircraft grade brushed aluminium alloy, the top case of the gaming keyboard seals components with rugged protection with a high-end finish. Therefore, all systems are measured for the effective energy consumption in the respective usage scenario and indicated with the maximum load. As mentioned above, macros are limited to the function row, which keeps them out of my usual reach realm.

While that opinion hasn’t really changed all that much, I’ve always wanted Logitech to offer an alternative to people like me since keyboard switches are never a one size fits all kind of deal. In Your Effects, the last of the G513 Carbon's lighting modes, you can select from even more preset lighting effects, or create your own animations in an interface reminiscent of Garage Band. While its on-paper specs aren't as impressive as a true speed demon like the Razer Huntsman V2, I was still able to maintain solid response times in everyday play and zip across the deck with a nice level of comfort. The force required to actuate each key on the G513 Carbon is 45 grams force (gf), the same as the rating for the Cherry MX Brown or MX Speed versions of Corsair's K95 RGB Platinum, but less than the 50gf demanded by the "Green Switch" version of Razer's BlackWidow Chroma V2. That's because there's still per-key RGB lighting, USB passthrough, and that all-important wrist rest to contend with.

Use FN + F keys to control volume, play and pause, skip track, mute, toggle lighting, enter game mode, etc.

If you want a keyboard that has onboard memory to save custom profiles, check out the Corsair K60 RGB PRO Low Profile. The special Logitech software works only with Windows, and it allows you to customize the keyboard to your heart’s content.

It also has much better ergonomics because it offers two incline settings and includes a wrist rest. Every key on the Razer is macro-programmable, while the Logitech only allows you to reprogram the function keys. The former is what really makes this keyboard work for me, and is the reason this might be my go-to gaming keyboard for the forseeable future. What impresses me the most is that Logitech has achieved this without significantly altering the fundamental design of Romer-G. I had a nightmare trying to get hold of logitech support when my m keycap paint started to come off.The Logitech G512 Special Edition and the Logitech G513 are two very similar keyboards that perform almost the same, but the G513 is more comfortable as it has a detachable wrist rest.
