About this deal

I read a lot of celebrity romances because it’s one of my jams, but it was interesting to get a different take on a pop star romance. My top tropes are friends to lovers and fauxmance, and Oakley gives us a marvellous combination of the two. I’ll say this was maybe the lower end of mid-angst but it wasn’t too bad for me thanks to the author’s talent for injecting fun in her writing. But if I were to describe their relationship, I'd say they were well on their way to falling in love, I just needed a bit more convincing that they already were by the end of this story. I also found the humanity of the main characters to be so well done that I felt like I knew them in real life.

2022 Goldie Finalists | GCLS

This book was a nice read after finishing a longer one, this was supposed to be short and fun, but it was a bit more because it turned out to be a bit emotional and charged with real issues like alcohol abuse and in this genre (f/f) that's not common. Fill this in if there is another file that closely matches this file (same edition, same file extension if you can find one), which people should use instead of this file. Her manager tells her if she wants the endorsement deal of a lifetime and to make it back to the game she needs to cleanup her lifestyle and start working on her rehabilitation. And I liked that Oakley was talented enough to show how Billie saw her inner vulnerability and that helped her have patience and reach out even in the face of a rebuff or two. Sage is a professional soccer player on the ending stretch of her career- especially after a minor ACL tear and the recovery process with that. She glanced around the room, and Willa wondered if she was trying to find an out to their conversation.

surprised how little it has “I’m not like other girls”-energy but is actually “we all make mistakes” and self reflective in a way I did not expect? The gap between her two front teeth was as disarming as ever—Willa had always thought it was cute, but now it seemed like one of those model imperfections that made a woman go from beautiful to stunning. It’s the perfect balance of idiots in love who are too stupid to realize it coupled with genuine moments of personal growth and selflessness. This also means that she is regularly taken advantage of and while she is aware of it and is working hard to learn to say no, she still struggles.

Never Mine: A Lesbian Romance by Bryce Oakley

The author showed them as down to earth normal people, not successful pop stars and it was a refreshing change of a storyline. That’s fine for her 15 year reunion but it’s a little awkward for her ex girlfriend’s bachelorette party which encourages people to come as couples. Though she knows she’s fully capable of writing her own songs, the label insists that her first single needs a major name behind it, not just her own. The daughter of a famous musician, she’s trying to make smart decisions for the first time in her life as she sets off on a solo career after years in a popular all-female group. Vero, a pop star who left her group, finished her stint in rehab and is trying to launch her solo career has only one problem. So this is a book that's been sitting on my Kindle for a hot minute, and I finally decided to read it this weekend. The communication of real The communication of real feelings is a bit of an issue though and I know it is to keep the drama and angst going in the book, but also for the life of me I just want to yell "talk to each other and don't assume!
