I don’t use heavy makeup very often, but I do use light cover foundation or BB cream, blush, mascara and eye brow products. And what I normally would do is that I remove my eye makeup first with an eye makeup remover first and then I use the oil cleanser for my face. This product does claim to remove eye makeup as well. But I really don’t think it is very effective in doing this. The Kosé Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil is a cult favourite in Japan, and makes light work of your first cleanse. Fragrance-free, this cleansing oil is suitable for all skin types. Rice bran oil is rich in nutritents like gamma-oryzanol, which is an antioxidant. Gamma-oryzanol and other compounds in rice bran could help fight UV-related damage. It comes in a large pump bottle and there is really nothing negative to say about it. It just screams J- beauty to me. You get a lot of product for the money.

It doesn’t leave an oily residue like some cleansing oils can and is also ok to use on sensitive skin. The bottle should last me about 2-3 months if I use it everyday which I think is fantastic value for money, especially compared to the other cleansing oils that are out there for double, if not triple the price! oryza sativa (rice) bran oil, mineral oil, sorbeth-30 tetraoleate, triethyl hexanoine, cyclomethicone, orange oil, tocopherol, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, glycerin, polyglyceryl-2 diisostearate, trilaureth-4 phosphate, water, phenoxyethanol Yes! This product range is designed specifically for removing makeup. Each of the cleansers is effective at removing all kinds of makeup; from light powder through to heavy and long-wear products such as eyeliner and waterproof mascara. This product is also gentle on eyes and it doesn’t cause stinging or irritation. Is Kose Softymo Cleansing Oil good for acne? Whitening means to brighten the complexion which this product claims to do whilst it cleanses and is also good for those who want to lessen the appearance of dull, tired skin.Kose Softymo Cleansing Oil is designed to be used as the first step in a double cleansing skincare routine. This first step removes oil-based impurities such as sebum, makeup and sunscreen. In the second step, another product (usually a foam or cream face wash like this one) is used to remove any water-based impurities such as dirt and sweat. Do I have to double cleanse with Kose Softymo Cleansing Oil? The preservative in it is phenoxyethanol, so it is paraben free (if that matters to you). It also contains some moisturizing ingredients like glycerin and jojoba seed oil. Jojoba oil provides anti-inflammatory benefits and could hold promise for helping to repair skin conditions like acne and eczema, according to this article. The formula contains nourishing and brightening ingredients such as Rice Bran Oil, Vitamin E and Olive Fruit Oil, all of which will leave the skin smooth and soft. Ingredients Ideally start with dry skin! If your hands or face are wet, be sure to dry them before using. These products need to be applied to dry skin with dry hands. That said, the Speedy Cleansing Oil is advertised to work even if you have wet hands.

As mentioned above, most cleansing oils need to be followed up with a secondary water-based cleanser. However, one product in this range has been developed to be used on its own. The Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil can be used as a standalone cleanser, and does not need to be followed with a second cleanse (hence the ‘speedy’ in the name!) Does Kose Softymo Cleansing Oil remove makeup? I solemnly swear to research skin care and beauty products, ask my dad (the chemist) for advice, and share those findings with you! Learn More Use as the first step in your double cleansing routine. Apply 1-2 pumps to clean palms massage into skin. Rinse with lukewarm water. Follow up with your preferred water-based cleanser. One of the cult favourite products in Japanese skincare! This product removes any traces of makeup (even waterproof) and goes deep into the pores to clear away any impurities without stripping the skin. The formula contains 5 certified organic oils (Olive, Jojoba, Sesame, Safflower and Shea Butter) that keep the skin smooth and moisturised. Ingredients Always when I use makeup I start with an oil cleanser. My skin type is super dry so using oil cleansers is absolutely the best match for my skin. I do double cleanse whenever I have been using more makeup, during summer time, or when I just feel like a deeper cleanse. Since my skin is really dry I tend to stay away from too much foam cleansing during winter time.

Apply the oil all over your dry face, gently massaging it into your makeup in circular motions. Spend a bit more time on any areas with heavy or waterproof makeup, such as around the eyes and mouth, but you shouldn’t need to rub too hard. After around 30 seconds to a minute, it should feel like your makeup has been dissolved. This first option is the most-sold, most-reviewed and highest-rated product from this range! It also has a super affordable price tag, making it a great starting point if you’ve never tried a cleansing oil before. It allows you to dip your toe into the world of cleansing oils, without the need to invest in one of the more luxury cleansers.

Finally rinse all the product off with lukewarm water. Your skin should be left feeling smooth and refreshed.I used to use DHC deep cleansing oil which, don’t get me wrong, is a great product, but I just can’t justify the hefty price tag it comes with. Imagine my reaction when I discovered Softymo; organic ingredients, cares for the skin, gives a deep cleanse, doesn’t cause breakouts, leaves no oily residue, and leaves me with extra coins in my purse!? It’s a no-brainer. Naturally when I compare kose softymo deep cleansing oil vs DHC deep cleansing oil, Softymo is the champ! Other than rice bran oil, this oil cleanser also includes mineral oil. According to a study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, cosmetic-grade mineral oil does not cause acne, and in my experience, I find that to be true. However, YMMV—if you know that your skin reacts horribly to mineral oil, then you should probably avoid this cleanser. One of the pluses of Softymo is that it rinses off easily, leaving no residue. I have found with other oil cleansers I have to really scrub to remove the oil, or it takes a long time to fully remove it… but not with Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil. My skin feels properly cleansed and smooth afterwards. The formula was renewed in 2016 to better clear pores.

Softymo Cleansing Oil contains natural moisturizing ingredients for easy removal of facial and eye makeup. To use this cleansing oil, apply a pump of it to your dry face and rub it all around, then apply a bit of warm water. At this point, you should start to see some white foam appearing on your face—this is a sign that the oils and grime and sunscreen are breaking down. Keep rubbing it around your face, gradually adding more warm water as needed, and you’ll be able to rinse it all clean. Follow with a traditional non-oil-based cleanser and you’re good to go. Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil removes most makeup effectively but can sometimes leave traces from waterproof products. It leaves skin feeling soft and clean without an oily residue. What makes it unique in this range, is that it can be used as a standalone cleanser, without the need for double cleansing.

My thoughts on!

Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil is really lightweight and it is a really nice cleansing oil to use. But that doesn’t mean that I love it. Softymo is so unbelievably fab that Kose have made 3 different versions, so depending on your skins wants and needs, you can choose the perfect product for you! The Softymo lineup consists of Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil, Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil and Softymo White Cleansing Oil. The speedy oil is perfect for those who are go-go-go as it’s formulated to work in double the time. Dispense 3 pumps of the cleansing oil into dry hands and massage gently onto your face. Be sure to do this step before you wet/wash your face as the water reacts with the product to give you that deep clean. After massaging for a little while, wet your hands with water and continue massaging. This is where the product will turn white slightly to show it’s emulsifying. Rinse everything off with water to reveal your beautifully refreshed and throughly cleansed face. Excellent cleansing power that removes the makeup behind the pores, stubborn dirt and waterproof mascara that is hard to fall off.
