Interviews: Katy Manning (actor), Making of Documentary, 'The Daemons - Omnibus' movie edit; 'The Vampire From Space' extended edit; PDF written archive: scripts and rare archival material. If theres a new announcement by the end of the year we might not have to wait until june next year for season 24 in standard. Doctor Who - The Collection - Season 8 - 3rd Doctor - Jon Pertwee - 8 Disc Blu-ray Box Set New Sealed.

I remember reading the Curse of Pleadon target book when I was a kid and when I finally saw it for the very first time which was the DVD release it did not disappoint! The first is an interview with Katy Manning which delves into her life in a way I would never have imagined. The 1971 season marks the beginning of the ‘UNIT family’ that would define the series for the next 4 years and change certain aspects of the show forever. And that’s not all, he must also contend with the arrival of his deadliest foe – arch nemesis the Master.Could I ask if anyone who has bought the standard edition is experiencing what may be a fault with the discs? Season 10 has 25 of the 26 episodes in it’s original pal recorded format (only exception being planet of the daleks ep 3). With the exception of the original Claws, all of these releases took place after the change of BBC logo, and had reversable sleeves to show the older white BBC logo, enabling fans to have a matching set with other older release. Of course, all of this is viewed with the gift of retrospect; a viewer watching week-to-week would not have known that the Master would be appearing in every story and could be forgiven for thinking that he wasn’t going to appear in Colony in Space, where he doesn’t crop up until episode 4. As for John maybe not the best idea to have a near 80 year old leave home to come pretty much 100 miles to a busy Covid infested London at a time before there was a vaccine.

Most sets are fine though, and BBC seem happy to replace the booklet if you did get a misprinted one. Plastic Fantastic - Examining the development and social impact of plastic products, and a look at how plastic infiltrated science fiction stories. I’m sure they will add the other VHS years clips on the other boxsets just like their already doing with the pertwee years clips on the daemons disk and frontier in space disk. Behind the Sofa – New episodes with Katy Manning, Stewart Bevan, Janet Fielding, Sarah Sutton, Sacha Dhawan and Anjli Mohindra. I could absolutely see Seasons 1 or 2 being released, but 5 or 6 would just be asking for backlash when one of the stories inevitably gets announced a few months later and can’t be included on the set (I expect we’ll have 5 and 6 fully animated in the next three years, so we won’t be waiting for the end of the range for all of them regardless).

Behind the Sofa has new episodes featuring Katy Manning, Stewart Bevan, Janet Fielding, and Sarah Sutton, as well as Sacha Dhawan and Anjli Mohindra watching the stories of Season 8. Audio Commentary - With Katy Manning (Jo Grant), Nicholas Courtney (Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart) and producer/director Barry Letts. New for this box set are some brand new features to support those which accompanied the DVD releases.

Bobby, Chris Chapman could still have made a tribute to Mary Tamm and could just be making it sound like he hasn’t done it. The season marks the first appearance of the Master who goes on to make further appearances through the season in every serial as the main antagonist who is finally captured at the end of the season. Several scenes from Episode Six are held on an offair NTSC VHS, which was used to create a bonus feature at the end of the original VHS release (the episodes themselves being in b/w), which has not been necessary since the advent of chromadot recovery. In comes Katy Manning as Jo Grant, a more traditional companion than the outgoing Liz Shaw, and the Brigadier’s vague roster of UNIT troops is narrowed down to Captain Mike Yates (Richard Franklin) who wasn’t in the previous year and Sergeant Benton (John Levene) who appeared as far back as The Invasion, but only as a sort of glorified extra.

Another new but hopefully regular feature is The Direct Route which sees Doctor Who directors, in this case Michael Briant, Graeme Harper and Tim Combe, on a road trip around the filming locations from Season 8. The extra features were all brilliant as always, it is probably one of the best ones they have done so far. There aren’t many instances in this season where it feels like the script has been contorted to accommodate the Master, but Don Houghton’s story is the one that comes closest. Read more about the condition Like New: An item that looks like it has just been taken out of its shrink wrap.

I also would not assume two doctors in the same year will not happen, particularly the 80s era as they are more recent and easier to work on. But six only has The Space Pirates missing that’s less episodes than one which is missing the whole of Marco Polo.

Think for ones that have full episodes it will just be the links on their respective stories and for ones that are clip shows (tom and Colin) they will include the full thing. The Blu-rays themselves are a must-own too, representing some of the best restoration we’ve seen yet across these Collection sets, with the picture and sound massively improved upon since the episodes were last released on DVD almost a decade ago. Note that the info text on the original DVD for Episode One opened with the Radio Times description of the episode; at the time this was so unusual it was described by some as an Easter Egg. So imagine if the brilliant people in charge of The Collection range went to the time and effort to tidy up these images.
