I was a fat kid and for all of my life, I have struggled with maintaining my weight and staying fit. My sister, Gayathri has been my constant support and partner. When I was in grade 12, I weighed 90 kgs at a height of 5 ft 4 inches!!!! A confrontation with my father led me to actually start running. Since then, I have attempted to work out but I have never succeeded in being consistent with my efforts for more than 2 months at a go. The same goes for my sister. We have often given into crash diets and high tempo but irregular physical activities. We have only focused on looking good for a certain occasion, for example our weddings, getting into a new college or an upcoming vacation. While there are dozens of diets and weight loss regimens on the web, it's important to remember that all bodies are different and, as such, everyone requires different food, in different amounts, consumed at different times, as well as different levels of exercise, to hit their target weight. While I understand that by working out every single day, we stand to harm our bodies as a result of over training/ exertion, but I strongly believe that by the time this challenge is done, fitness would have become a habit. Going to a gym and other physical activities would actually become pleasurable and therapeutic.
