The Light Dome II includes a studio grade fabric grid to help focus in your light beam angle to 40 degrees. When it comes to filming faces, creating a soft quality of light is the key to making people look good. With it’s wide 33.5-inch diameter, the Light Dome SE creates a beautiful soft light specially designed to blanket your subject, hide blemishes, and make everyone look stunning on-camera. If you have a bathroom with no windows, a dark corridor or dull wardrobe space, you can benefit from a sun tunnel. They are available for both flat roofs pitched from 0 - 15° or for sloped roofs with a pitch between 15 and 60°.

Weighing in at roughly 1kg (2.4lbs), the Light Dome SE is one of the most portable lighting modifiers ever. Aputure Light Dome II

Lightweight and Portable: Weighing just over 2 pounds, the Light Dome SE pairs effortlessly with all Bowens Mount LED lights. The new Light Dome II is designed to fit with all fixtures from the Light Storm COB family. It is also compatible with a wide variety of Bowens mount lighting systems, the most common mounts used in the world of photography. The Light Dome II comes with two layers of ultra-soft diffusion: Magic Cloth and Silk Cloth. Combined, these materials turn your hard COB light into a beautiful soft light that provides a very even wrap around your subject, making the Light Dome II the perfect diffuser for portraits, interviews, documentaries, music videos, and narratives.

The flexible tubes require a shorter distance from roof to room. But even so, regardless of the deflected journey of the light, it still sends impressive amounts of brightness into your previously dim spaces. When filming any subject, reflections are bound to occur. Many are desirable like the catch light of a model’s eyes. Using 16 fiberglass rods, the Light Dome SE guarantees beautiful circular reflections are always pleasing to the eye. The 35'' Light Dome II uses 16 rods which create 32 points of axis, allowing an exceptionally round beam of light that is almost a perfect circle. Combining this with the Aputure COB Series or other compatible Bowens mount fixtures, creatives are now able to get a precise circular round light that also functions as a catch light in the eyes of your on-camera talent. The five-pound Light Dome III can provide videographers with a large cylindrical soft box to throw soft light in a space much smaller (and a setup time much faster) than traditional soft boxes, while the three-pound Light Dome Mini III looks to appeal to photographers who “appreciate and prefer the light quality of a beauty dish but find using and storing them cumbersome” as this new collapsing design offers similar light quality in a far more portable product.
