Citruses are not dominant in this scent at all. White flowers, strong musk and solid pinch of incense are the dominant notes in this choir. This scent is kind of "immortal". Indeed it reminds me of already mentioned Kouros, but does that mean that this is not a "womanly" scent? No. It can be misinterpreted in modern times, but only if overapplied. With mild application it might even garner a few compliments. How ingenious was to hide "hot stuff" under the layers of innocent flowers, what a great deception! I cannot recall any specific memories of who in my life may have worn this fragrance, I only know that it seems to be etched into my DNA somehow and is a fantastic match for my chemistry and who I am. Even with clothing, I can’t do wimpy or small scales, or A-lines, it’s not the proportion for my body or my shape. I need a lot of fabric, cut right. Well, the bottle is like 80-90% full, but I am so happy to have this treasure! It's a 14 Rue Royale/Cosmair splash. This is pleasant but can't hold my attention; an hour of fun before I move on to something more interesting.

There are other points of comparison that merit a mention: for instance, the longevity and the sillage, which are equally strong with both versions, or the target group, which makes me think that the vintage version leans even a bit more towards the unisex direction than the L’ Originale. Rich pride woman age 40+, classic style proper dress up, never speak any rude words, speak more like formal to another person, but in nicely way

I love a large variety of scents, but I think florals can be quite difficult. You get just baby bear, or maybe cousin bear, but never mama and papa bear for a cohesive family. I need a little strong plus some soft. The silage and lonegvity are moderate and it works very well with my skin (I don´t like it on the clothes). The hyacinth is the most dominat and so real that I had difficulty to distinguish if I smell hyacinth from my grandmother´s garden or Anais Anais. Reminds me of graded reader book in primary highschool time named "When Grandma And Grandpa Were Still Young", and this is the first time I think of it again after 17 years It was not until around hour 10 that this wonderful fragrance had finally disappeared. I do not doubt it could have lasted longer, had I resisted the urge for body hygiene. And I remind you - we are talking about the EdT here! This one is special to me, not necessarily because of the scent. I have a miniature of the eau de toilette, which my mum gave to me. She got it as a present from a friend of the family when she was in her twenties, and since I am in my twenties now, it makes me imagine what she would have been like in her younger days.

But really, who can say if our memories of the long gone fragrances are accurate representations of the actual fragrance, or if we are driven by nostalgia...I haven’t worn Anais Anais for more than thirty years. When I first discovered it, I loved the softness and romantic nature of this fragrance, so floral, so feminine...so sweet in a non-confectionery way. But Anais Anais remains the sole, unique, only one not heavy, not unbearable, not suffocating, not cloying floral. It’s just the right amount of everything to my nose. I really adore this perfume. Funny because my sister had this one in her bedroom, dressing table, around 7 years ago. I dismissed it. Because at that time, I was moving into “ newer” scents. As it develops, a powdery bouquet emerges, mostly made up of white florals. Bold and lush, it sweetly innocent rather than carnal. Muted tuberose, clean jasmine and the muguet of the opening are most evident. Rose and iris follow, enhancing the powder while adding interest to the white florals.Oddly, I don't recall disliking hyacinth as a flower, but maybe I have the same love/hate relationship with it as with lemon and lemongrass. This is much, much softer and more subtle than the perfumes I'm used to wearing, so I had to spray a bit extra to smell it on myself. I can see why fans of the old formula are a bit disappointed with the strength of this, but it's not that bad so far as projection-- better than an edc. I noticed that while overall this scent is unique and a pleasure to wear, winter is definitely not its time to shine because the scent tends to get too dry and dusty whereas hot summers are the perfect time for it. Scent 7/10 - not exactly modern, but with careful application it might avoid being perceived as "démodé" Well, i was wrong...i won't say this smells bad, because i still have to smell this perfume on someone with the right chemistry.
