Description

Cylinders are the least common cordless vac as they're usually on the larger and bulkier side, but they also have a huge dust capacity. With Henry Pods, there are no filters to clean, meaning you get brand-new, out of the box performance with every new Pod. Annie used this vacuum to clean her living room, kitchen, bedroom, hallway, and bathroom, daily or several times a week. I’d opted for the granite grey colour, although it’s also available in the traditional pink and red. You’ll often see Henry hanging out with his mates on a building site because every building site has one.

Another unique selling point about the Henry Quick is that you can use it with scent capsules so that when you vacuum it leaves behind a nice scent. As you may have noticed from some of my other vacuum cleaner reviews – especially the Gtech AirRam Platinum – I’m very partial to a good bin-emptying system and this one is up there with the very best, mainly because it comprises a disposable and recyclable bag – or pod – for fuss-free emptying.Simple to swap, charge and replace, Henry Quick's detachable, lithium-ion battery delivers powerful, cordless cleaning. Picking up Cheerios on such a surface is always a tricky test and the Henry Quick’s floor head just isn’t equipped for it, pushing the large cereal chunks ahead, only collecting 2g. And since the bags are not biodegradable or compostable like, say, the Halo Capsule’s paper and cardboard bags, they are still going to landfill. Derek (aka Delbert, Delvis, Delphinium, Delboy etc) specialises in home and outdoor wares, from coffee machines, white appliances and vacs to drones, garden gear and BBQs.

Suction power normally indicates how good a vacuum is at cleaning, so I was worried about how it would perform in our cleaning tests. The Dyson V12 Detect Slim and Dyson V15 Detect are even better options, but they are much more expensive. However the Henry Quick proved a bit too powerful for our cheap and flimsy Ikea rug, even on normal mode, so this is something to bear in mind. There is zero dust with this system because the entire bag – which is sealed with a one-way rubber gasket – simply falls out into the rubbish bin. The Crevice Tool is a tool that comes with most vacuum cleaners, so ordinarily, I use this one to clean my skirting boards, get into corners, and clean my velvet bed frame. This doesn't light up my path, but it does mean I can go a little more seamlessly from my hard floor to the rug, and it definitely picks up every speckle of dust and dirt.

The pods themselves are made from up to 65% recycled material, and although the makers of the Henry Quick say they’re carbon offsetting all of their pods globally, it was hard not to feel a pang of eco-guilt as the pod disappeared into the wheelie bin. I still miss the old fella though I swear I saw him hanging out in a bar with some builders the other day, effing and blinding about the bastard wot threw him in a skip while sipping on a pint of Hawkstone. However, unlike most sticks that are predominantly bagless, the Henry Quick uses sealed disposable bags – or pods – that simply pop into the cylinder.

When it comes to charging the Henry Quick, you can charge the vacuum's battery on its own or charge the actual vacuum. This allows for more versatility during cleaning, meaning you won't have to lug the entire appliance up and down the stairs if you're doing a spot clean, or worry about hose extensions if you're looking to vacuum the tops of bookshelves or ceilings.

But I was wrong because the moment we moved into our new home we needed to sweep up the sooty contents of a badly maintained wood burner and no vacuum cleaner I’ve ever used is capable of doing that without choking and then quickly dying.

It came equipped with three different vacuum heads — a floor head, a crevice tool, and a brush tool — as well as the recyclable Henry pods to go inside the cylinder (but more on those later). At the standard suction setting the Henry Quick quickly mounted the first line of Cheerios, and proceeded to gobble a good amount: 22g of a 26g spill. Welcome to our review of the brand new Henry Quick, a cordless stick vacuum cleaner that uses disposable bags for dust-free emptying. With our wide selection of domestic vacuum cleaners, you can find the perfect cleaning companion for your home.
