Then Jesus sat on the young donkey and slowly, humbly, made his triumphal entry into Jerusalem, fulfilling the ancient prophecy in Zechariah 9:9:

Meanwhile, in the early morning hours, as Jesus' trial was getting underway, Peter denied knowing his Master three times before the rooster crowed. We had a substitute preacher preaching at our church and he told this story. He said, when he was younger, he thought that the doxology went: “Praise God from whom all blessings go, Praise him all preachers here we go (instead of creatures here below), then praise him above the heavenly host, praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.” He said he thought that because, when everyone sang that, often the preacher leaves the pulpit and walks out! I decorated a room a couple of months ago but last week I opened a delivery and fell in love with a rug so much that I’m considering repainting the room! I do fall for them all, it’s safe to say. Sunday School Lesson (John 14:1-14) Jesus is the Way, and the Truth, and the Life This week the children will be learning that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. These Sunday School Lessons are based on the passage in John 14 where Jesus explains how relationship with Him is the only...Sunday siesta? Yes, I’ll sleep for about an hour and wake up feeling great. I’ve always had a lot of sleep, all my life. I can sleep for – nine to 10 hours each day. From Bethany, Jesus sent Peter and John ahead to the Upper Room in Jerusalem to make the preparations for the Passover Feast. That evening after sunset, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples as they prepared to share in the Passover. By performing this humble act of service, Jesus demonstrated by example how believers should love one another. Today, many churches practice foot-washing ceremonies as a part of their Maundy Thursday services. At the Baptist church the squirrels had taken an interest in the baptistery. The deacons met and decided to put a water-slide on the baptistery and let the squirrels drown themselves. The squirrels liked the slide and unfortunately, knew instinctively how to swim, so twice as many squirrels showed up the following week. Here are some scriptures that could relate to pets. I spent time thinking of these after my cat died. Good Friday is the most difficult day of Passion Week. Christ's journey turned treacherous and acutely painful in these final hours leading to his death.

Favourite activity? I have three dogs – a labrador called Fred, a dachshund called Fritz, and a West Highland called Fergus – and they need exercise. We have a very large 70-acre garden, which is open to the public, where 80 species of birds have been recorded. So I’ll often take the dogs out for a walk in my garden, using my golf buggy, and then do some gardening and listen to the bullfinches. Jesus spoke seven final statements from the cross. His first words were, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." (Luke 23:34, NIV). His last wordswere, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." (Luke 23:46, NIV)According to Scripture, Judas Iscariot, the disciple who had betrayed Jesus, was overcome with remorse and hanged himself early Friday morning. He brought about seventy-five pounds of perfumed ointment made from myrrh and aloes. Following Jewish burial custom, they wrapped Jesus' body with the spices in long sheets of linen cloth." (John 19: 39-40, NLT) Sunday School Lesson “Jesus Heals the Man Born Blind” from John 9:1-42 These Sunday School Lessons are based on the passage in John 9 where Jesus heals the man born blind. For this week’s Sunday School lesson, we’ve included everything you need to teach. There are several options for this week’s lesson,... Late that evening in Gethsemane, Jesus was betrayed with a kiss by Judas Iscariot and arrested by the Sanhedrin. He was taken to the home of Caiaphas, the High Priest, where the whole council had gathered to begin making their case against Jesus.

And not much was heard from the Jewish synagogue. They took the first squirrel and circumcised him. On the Sunday before his death, Jesus began his trip to Jerusalem, knowing that soon he would lay down his life for our sins. Nearing the village of Bethphage, he sent two of his disciples ahead, telling themto look for a donkey and its unbroken colt. The disciples were instructed tountie the animals and bring them to him. On Tuesday morning, Jesus and his disciples returned to Jerusalem. They passed the withered fig tree on their way, and Jesus spoke to his companions about the importance of faith. While his physical body lay in the tomb, Jesus Christ paid the penalty for sin by offering the perfect, spotless sacrifice. He conquered death, both spiritually and physically, securing our eternal salvation: On Palm Sunday, Jesus and his disciples spent the night in Bethany, a town about two miles east of Jerusalem. This is where Lazarus, whom Jesus had raised from the dead, and his two sisters, Mary and Martha, lived. They were close friends of Jesus, and probably hosted Him and His disciples during their final days in Jerusalem.Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey,on a colt ]the foal of a beast of burden.’” 6The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them. 7They brought the donkey and the colt and put on them their cloaks, and he sat on them. 8Most of the crowdspread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting,“Hosanna tothe Son of David!Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosannain the highest!” 10Andwhen he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, saying, “Who is this?” 11And the crowds said, “This isthe prophet Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.” A song by Audio Adrenaline expounds on the inspiring idea Jesus shares in the parable of the lost sheep.

With a tear in his eye the priest gave Murphy a big smile & said; “After I talked about ‘Thou Shalt Not Steal' ya decided you would rather do without your hat than burn in Hell?”

Holy Week

After church, Johnny tells his parents he has to go and talk to the minister right away. They agree, and the pastor greets the family. I use a lot of French girl’s names. I love France and the French language so that also adds to my obsession with Morocco being French-speaking. The other names I just get a feel for the piece and name it something fitting. I think they all deserve a lovely name. On Resurrection Sunday, or Easter, we reach the culmination of Holy Week. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most important event of the Christian faith. The very foundation of all Christian doctrine hinges on the truth of this account.
