The characters are well thought out and engaging and the storyline is fast paced, thrilling, and fraught with twists and turns that caught me unawares all the way through. So this simple event — this last minute decision to do a surprise on Mommy — turns Joe’s life completely upside down. Despite this effort, I must admit that I wasn’t successful in figuring it all out before I reached the end. It's intense, insane, enthralling, and the chapters literally whiz by, helped massively by the fact that one chapter blends SO seamlessly into the next one that you just can't help but keep reading, until your eyes are incredibly sore because you've been starting at your Kindle screen for over 4 hours.

Joe opines that “it’s not the photographing and sharing and broadcasting that makes something what it is. Overall, this was fairly solid thriller but be prepared that you might get frustrated with the main character. I think we know the answer to those questions, and Joe definitely knew the answer to two of these questions. Losing his phone and having his Facebook account hacked is just the start of Joe’s unravelling as it appears that his nemesis in lying in wait in the shadows and staying carefully out of the public domain, all in a very concerted effort to necessitate the police to up the investigation into the whereabouts of Ben from missing person status to concern for his safety and a proof-of-life inquiry. Joe has the perfect life a loving wife, and an adorable little boy, but as in all good psychological thrillers things aren’t always as they seem.By the time I finished the book I felt there were more positive things about the story than negative. And, as the last person to see him — and because their meeting wasn’t so friendly — he’s in the police’s crosshairs as the prime — and only — suspect. Or so it seems, and whilst niggling doubts force Joe to continually question the evidence and just what he is seeing, he is unable to turn back the clock and once the genie is of out the bottle the collateral damage is only a matter of time. The police have a growing pile of evidence against him and Joe realizes that he's going to have to find a way to bring Ben out in the open, proving that Joe hasn't killed Ben.

All I'll say is that this is a brilliant novel and I have no reservations in highly recommending it! You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. After all, why describe, in such detail, how Wills likes to play airport parking garage, lining up his cars by color again and again? Let me preface this whole review by saying: I love a good plot twist, but I love it when that twist is done right. prompted by his son who is eager to share his recently acquired award with his mom, Joe chooses to follow his wife.

Joe is truly a good man, devoted to his wife and son, committed to his profession (teaching), and honest. And he’s not moving… Gripping, unputdownable and packed with twists and turns from the first page to the very last, this stunning psychological thriller will make you question whether we can ever really trust the ones we love. Suddenly finding himself without an inhaler and with a child who desperately needs one, Joe reluctantly flees the parking garage, leaving Ben still unconscious on the pavement.

It is nicely paced, well balanced and a damned good thriller with some clever wee twists that caught me out. As i as was reading this book i thought i had a pretty good idea on what was going on, on who was to blame and the how the story was going to end. Right off the bat, readers might have the sneaking suspicion that LIES won’t be the most groundbreaking book—and they will find themselves justified in thinking so.This song went through my head every time I picked up this book, so I thought I’d share with you all!
