Description

The entre Clase Azul collection is top-of-the-line, premium tequila from the infamous region of Jalisco, where the best of the best is produced. Clase Azul Reposado Tequila is made from 100 percent organic blue weber agaves which are cooked for an above-average 72 hours. Espolon Tequila (spur) was created by Don Cirilo Oropeza who spent most of his life distilling rum in Veracruz, Mexico before getting tapped by Jose Cuervo where he learned the in and outs of Tequila.

Espolon Reposado Tequila : The Whisky Exchange

Another well-known name in tequila, Don Julio pulls out all the stops for their Reposado. It’s aged for eight months in American white-oak barrels and is made with 100 percent blue weber agaves. It’s the prime example of a perfect barrel-aged tequila. The nose is well-balanced and pleasant with a subtle sweetness of agave, a touch of citrus and baking spice, and a slight presence of alcohol. It has a balanced flavor profile with a prominent sweetness, moderate oakiness, and a subtle hint of pepper on the finish. The term “reposado” translates to “rested” in English and that’s exactly what this tequila is. Not aged for a long time. Simply rested to impart a few extra flavors. Unlike the extended aging of añejo tequila, reposado is still fairly roasted agave-heavy but the limited aging does add flavors like vanilla, oak, and caramel into the mix. The finish is pleasant, slightly warm with a sweet, oaky aftertaste and a hint of peppery spice. Espolon Reposado Review: is it good? Espolon Reposado undergoes a two-month aging process in oak barrels, infusing it with its distinct flavor.

Espolon Reposado Tequila - Majestic Wine

It offers a pleasant, caramel sweetness that is reminiscent of Irish Whiskey but with a warmer character. Whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast or just dipping your toes into this world, I invite you to join me as we explore the fascinating realm of these legendary spirits. While a few months isn’t much compared to the years and years other spirits age, it’s still enough to develop a unique flavor profile without losing the bright agave notes that are common in a blanco tequila. Reposado tequila is truly the perfect middle-ground in more ways than one. Common flavor notes in a reposado include caramel, honey, chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, and in some cases, chilies. It is manufactured in the San Nicolas Distillery located in the Jalisco Highlands. San Nicolas is designed to be an artisanal facility, built to Oropeza’s specifications. Blanco is the least aged tequila, and anejo is the most. There’s even a sub-category known as extra anejo that’s aged even longer. The best reposado tequila is one that falls right in the middle – aged between two months and one year.

Those drams are legally allowed to be labeled as tequila but they are bad and will give you a bad hangover. Espolon Reposado: Bottle Price Most Tequilas are unaged as they were bottled right after distillation; they are known as Blanco or Silver Tequila.

El Espolon Reposado Tequila | House of Malt

Though it doesn’t capture the refined subtleties of premium Reposados, its smooth and sweet character, evoking hints of an agave-infused Irish whiskey, ensures a pleasant drink. The insights I’ve gained aren’t just from books or hearsay; they are the result of hands-on experience, countless tastings, and an enduring passion for these spirits. Opting for a Tequila with more burn and pepperiness enhances the Margarita, allowing the juices to balance and complement the spirit. Is Espolon Reposado good for shots? While all reposado tequilas have some things in common, you’ll still find quite a variety. The difference between a bottle of reposado aged for two months and one aged for the full year will be noticeable.

Enjoying it straight from the freezer provides a highly satisfying experience, surpassing the use of ice which can dilute the Tequila’s flavors. Named after a process in which agaves are roasted in small ovens called "hornitos," the brand includes many of the usual suspects: the unaged "silver" of Hornitos Plata, the two-months-plus oak aged Reposado, the Añejo that has at least a year of aging under its belt, and a handful of specialties and pre-mixed drinks. The brand is completely missing a gold tequila — which, for reference, would be a mix of a silver and one of the aged tequilas. The nose is rich with delightful spices, followed by a palate full of butter, vanilla, and agave. It’s an exhilarating balance of sweet and spicy. 2. Partida Reposado Tequila Espolon Reposado is carb-freebut should be consumed in moderation onketobecause it is alcoholic. Ingredients There are no artificial flavors or sweeteners that can be detected, which adds to its authenticity.
