The ladder really is very long, if you have high ceilings this is the one for you! I am planning on cutting mine down a lot, but if anything this will make it feel even more solid, if it were possible. The ladder is being used to replace a spiral staircase up to the loft which has been converted into a second bedroom. The spiral staircase took up around 20% of the loft space. Since we fitted the ladder it has made the room seem far larger giving us valuable extra space. The house is a small one bedroom terraced property and space is at a premium. The sales service was fast and efficient. The price on Ladderstore was the best I could find and I was pleased that the wooden ladder was of a similar price to the cheap aluminium models. I prefer wooden ladders because they give less as you load them and feel sturdier. The wooden hatch frame is great because of the natural give in the material- as you install the hatch into the ceiling it's very forgiving if you need to adjust one side to make it level.
