I formed a large smile in response. I couldn’t just waltz right up to him and start interrogating him about his brother, so I tried a different tactic. “Looks like you’re the one who needs help. Do you want a hand with those bags?” I nodded toward the heavy luggage weighing down on his shoulders. Despite the size of the bags, he didn’t seem to be struggling with them. Absolutely no spice. They talk about kissing a few times, although even that is not described in detail. Hayley, honey, you’re home,” Mom tittered, flashing me a smile. She grabbed two pieces of material and brought them over to me. “I’m replacing those drab curtains in the family room. Which do you prefer, the hunter green or the emerald green?” Her eyes were bright with enthusiasm, like she’d just asked me to choose between a family vacation to Disneyland or a trip to SeaWorld. She always got this way about her work. Mom was one of those people who lived life at the emotional extremes of the spectrum. She never expressed herself in a half-hearted way. chatting about cheerleading, but I knew I needed to tell Mom the truth about my car. I squared my shoulders, knowing it was now or never. And never wasn’t really an option because I desperately wanted my car to get fixed.

SHE DOESN’T GET WITH THE BAD BOY!!! Not going to lie this fact is like 58% of why I enjoyed this book I should have just gone up to him and welcomed him home—like a normal person would—but my body was frozen in place, and all I could do was watch as he began walking toward the house with his mom. He didn’t look in my direction, but that might have been a good thing. Thanks to an intense after-school cheer practice and my car breaking down, I was a bit of a mess tonight. The fact I was watching him like some infatuated schoolgirl wouldn’t have been a good look for me either. Hayley has her eyes set on the popular twin next door, Owen, for her prom date. Her promposal doesn’t quite go as planned and ends up in a fake relationship with Owen’s nerdy and muso twin brother, Ethan. Their secret operation is to make Owen notice Hayley and hopefully end up asking her to prom. Little does Hayley know that Ethan has been crushing on her for years and is glad of the opportunity to spend more time with her, even if it is a fake relationship.I didn't like how things just ended suddenly for the side storylines and we were just kind of left in the middle. I would have loved to read a bit more about the famous Owen and maybe see a bigger meaning behind all his *assholeness*. He and Laurie were the true Mean Girls of the story. This brings me to Hayley's amazing taste any Ethan's super exciting "fake" dates. They were just breathtaking. I wished I would get such a magical moment one day. :D Ethan was just a dream come true. He was quiet but not the shy type of quiet. He was the type of quiet who'd rather just sit and watch the world go on, observing everything. The bad boy is a legit bad boy that doesn’t have a heart of gold and is conceited and self-centered! Finally a character that is true to how these guys are, why would they ever change if what they do works?? A few weeks faking a relationship shouldn't be too hard. After all, Ethan is nothing compared to Owen. Right? This book is a full length, standalone romance. The Wrong Prom Date is perfect for readers looking for: I loved Ethan’s promposal and the BRG (Big Romantic Gesture) with the inclusion of Taylor Swift songs!

A lot of miscommunication. At least I felt like with how uncertain the characters felt about themselves and whether they were worth loving this made sense. They didn’t see themselves as the other saw them so it was easy to think they couldn’t be loved. So it worked for me. Hayley Lawson has no chance of getting a date to prom. Thanks to a rumor gone wrong, the boys at school are all convinced she's only interested in dating college guys. She certai... I doubted I’d ever said more than two words to Ethan, but that didn’t stop me from making my way toward him. If anyone would know why Owen was home, it would be his brother. Well…” I launched into my explanation about how I’d stopped the car while driving home so I could sing a Taylor Swift song. That, at least, Mom understood, and she nodded in agreement. She probably would have done the same thing, as we both tended to sing with a lot of hand movements—especially when it came to Taylor’s songs. When I got to the part about my car needing to be towed away and the sheriff driving me home, she rushed forward and gathered me up in a big hug.A few weeks faking a relationship shouldn’t be too hard. After all, Ethan is nothing compared to Owen. Right? The story here is about Hayley, Madi's friend from the second book, she has a crush on her neighbor, but what she didn't know is that his twin brother has the hugest crush on her .. how can he convince her that he is the right guy for her not his brother ? Uh, sure.” Wow, I was really struggling to tell her what happened with the car. Mom was the understanding parent, so it shouldn’t be so hard. I was usually quite good about owning up to my mistakes. The car breaking down wasn’t even my fault, but the ride home in the cop car had freaked me out. Suddenly, it felt like I’d done something wrong.
