The 100% Hemp canvas upper with organic cotton lining felt exceptional against my skin. Hemp has long been one of my favourite plants; I look to incorporate it into as much of my day as possible. Now, in my FoamLife MULLY flip flops, its strength and sustainable durability literally carry me about earth’s surface as I step from one adventure to the next (like this very morning, school drop off to the DIY shop to exchange the wrong size orbital sander paper). Different activities call for varying levels of comfort, support, and durability. If you plan to wear your flip flops on a river run, you may prioritize a water-resistant option with exceptional traction. Those embarking on a hike will need a flip flop with excellent stability and durability. Casual users won't need to prioritize those features, but comfort will be key. By considering the activities you plan to engage in, you can make a better-informed choice and choose a flip flop that meets your specific needs. Water Activities Many companies are offering natural toe-box-shaped shoes. Feet tend to spread out as you get closer to the toes, and these foot-shaped shoes take this into account. This may be intriguing for those with wide feet as you won't need to worry about your pinky toe handing off the side. If you find your toes handing off, those shoes don't fit! However, those with narrow feet won't need to worry too much about this. If anything, those with narrow feet might need to half-size down for properly fitted straps. This was a competitive test with plenty of flip-flops for both men and women scoring highly. We still like the sandals listed below, but they didn’t make our list above due to some minor issues we noticed during testing.The Men’s collection this year features an easy to wear colour pallete in sliders & flip flops with sustainable material combinations providing variety.

For being on your feet all day long, we think the Chaco Men’s Lowdown Flip Flops are the best pair of super supportive sandals. Throughout five months of testing, these shoes became our go-to for camping, gardening, running errands, and lounging by the pool. While the midsole is EVA foam, the rest of the flip-flop material is a tough and firm rubber that feels extremely durable. We're big fans of the contoured sides and raised heel that provide the perfect amount of arch support. The footbed is firm and rubberized with a sleek arch that allows the shoe to fit well against the bottom of the foot. These shoes are very comfortable when stationary and the arch support feels balanced and uniform. While the sandals didn’t cause any chafing or blisters out of the box, the straps were a bit tight and then loosened up quite a bit after we broke the shoes in. However, the flip-flops run true to size and the footbed and straps should mold to the shape of your foot over time. Recycled card is used for hangers and swing tags, which are attached with recycled paper string. They are small steps towards our longer-term sustainability goal and easier to implement early on when starting a brand.

Offering a versatile assortment is also key to the Women’s collection. Whether that be something to wear to the beach in a bold print or pastel colour like our Zikat-SC & Lixi-SC styles. Or something that looks and feels a little more premium that works from the beach to the bar like our ‘Earth Series’ collection styles, available in flip flop and slider silhouettes. of our flip flop range now has a toe post made from RPET (recycled plastic bottles), an increase from 30% last year. We have also introduced an RPET upper strap lining and thread on many of our new 2023 styles. Due to launch in mid-April, FoamLife are a new flip flop brand taking the industry by storm with their comfort, style, and raw innovation… We have a fairly even split of Men’s and Women’s styles in the range and both collections offer flip flops and sliders. We have increased the use of our sugarcane EVA, that is now used in the majority of the range. We have also increased the use of natural cork, RPET materials derived from post-consumer plastic bottles and hemp canvas into the collection. New to the range this year is a Vegan plant-based bio-leather featured in x4 Women’s styles.

Are we a sustainable brand? Not yet, but we believe that our path to becoming a more sustainable brand is part of our overall journey. The majority of our Men’s & Women’s collection uses a ‘soft to step’ 15-30% recycled EVA foam on the footbed and outsole. Our Men's Mully and Women's Wahoo styles are made from a brushed recyclable TPE foam, the toe posts are made from recycled plastic bottles (RPET) and the padded upper strap is made from a 100% hemp canvas that is lined with organic cotton for comfort. The whole range is vegan friendly and PVC free. FoamLife was created by a collective of likeminded friends, creatives, thinkers, makers, and doers.
