Description

There have been many 'girl power' females who have helped shape the course of history, including these four rulers from Tudor times: Elizabeth I, Lady Jane Grey, Mary I and Mary Queen of Scots. The Horrible Histories series are brought to life on stage by Neal Foster and the Birmingham Stage Company.

Nottingham and the First World War each have their own show and there has been a Horrible Christmas show! The content, which was designed and developed by Red Bee Media, was commissioned by Horrible Histories [35] to work in tandem with the 2009 CBBC TV series.Beastly Boxset:Time travel through history and discover what it was like to live in six different eras . I’m here with nine-year-old Aggie, who loves Horrible Histories on TV, and five-year-old Hilda, who really doesn’t unless it’s one of the Stupid Death bits (“Hope next time it’s not you-ooo”). They were published by Eaglemoss Publications, distributed by Cornag Magazine Marketing, printed by UK company Headley Bros, colour originated by Icon Reproductions, and released every fortnight. Hilda thinks the idea of Edward VI’s whipping boy is hilarious while Aggie looks horrified as the poor lad is lashed. An edited version of the prom was televised as a special episode of the 2009 CBBC TV series entitled Horrible Histories Big Prom Party.

The Horrible Histories stage shows have toured around the UK playing since the first premiered in 2005. The Rotten Romans features beastly battles, deadly doctoring and marvellous myths—and you can even find out how to tell the future using a dead chicken! The aim of the multi-platform promotion was to shift perceptions about the series and to increase online participation.

The children's theatre company Birmingham Stage Company Productions have the license to present Horrible Histories on stage around the world. It was unusual to be ruled by a woman, because at the time, they were seen as weak and not as clever as men.
