Hedge Witchcraft by Harmonia Saille MUST HAVE (*****)- While this book is a very short and basic introduction to hedgecraft, I believe every witch should read it. As a person who doesn't know any fellow witches to share her views with, I thought this would be a book to read. I highly recommend this book to novice hedge witches because it breaks down hedge riding in easy, relatable terms.

Beth gets most of the history of hedgecraft wrong and the rituals are very complicated and too formal for most hedgewitches. Cari Thomas is author of the Sunday Times Bestseller, Threadneedle – her debut novel and the first in her language of Magic series.

Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs by Scott Cunningham MUST HAVE (*****)- Every hedgewitch needs to know the magical uses of herbs. This book has worked for many and while I think that's great, I would be careful if you are interested in this book.

It's just your typical 20th century Neo-Wiccan nonsense- complete with your fairly typical Silver Ravenwolf-esque rhetoric of the era, and only a thin veneer of Hedgecraft (even then, that veneer is so thin it might as well not exist). Hoffman's book is a wonderful addition to a witch's library, especially if you plan on using herbal remedies.To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. van der Hoeven does not, however, support the use of 'drugs' to reach an altered state of consciousness which was traditionally used by hedge witches. I have several other books on herbalism, other than Cunningham's and have found his to be an excellent overview of the magical uses of herbs and a great beginner's guide. Somehow, you get close to the soul of the author, and you get closer to yourself as she walks her talk in each page. Unfortunately, I did not feel this book was as good as The Book of Hedge Druidry, but it did offer some valuable insight into hedgecraft if you are new to it. If you’re looking for some general information about incorporating nature into your own practice, The Way of the Hedge Witch is a good addition to your library. Following requests from fans of her previous works, experienced hedgewitch, Harmonia Saille takes the reader on a journey of discovery as she explores Festivals, Sacred Trees, Herbal Lore, Folk Magick and Divination.The author extols the feminine principles of healing and regeneration as well as attacking greed and self-interest which jeopardize the planet's very future. What I really like about Harmonia's book "Hedge Witchcraft " is that it is full of soul, full of who we all are, and maybe have forgotten . Bronnie is so lovely with the boys and we also felt that having a man enthusing about the books set a great example. Not only that, but mysterious events around the town are causing panic in the secret magical community and cowans – non-magical folk – are starting to take notice. Somehow, the key around her neck, left to her by her mother, makes her to believe that her mother’s captured somewhere.
