About this deal

Interconnection: Up to 12 units can be interconnected via a hardwired or wireless system (using optional Ei168RC mounting plate)

The new Ei3014 heat alarm is the perfect, recommended replacement for the Ei164. The new alarm can hard-wire interlink with any remaining Ei160 series alarms in your system, and fits directly onto your existing Ei160 base without any need to rewire. The heat sensor technology in the Ei3014 is designed for places where dust, humidity, and normal household fumes may trigger smoke alarms, such as kitchens, lofts, garages and workshops. If a smoke detector is removed from the base and the battery is also removed, the alarm might still hold some residual charge and beep for up to a minute. Pressing the test button for about 10 seconds will discharge the circuitry. A new Ei161 alarm has been installed but is randomly emitting short (1-2 seconds) alarm beeping sounds. Solution Interruptions of the mains power can be due to several reasons, including incorrect wiring (e.g. if the power supply comes from the lighting system and the alarm is incorrectly wired to the switched part of the circuit or when neutral/earth wiring are reversed), tripped fuses/circuit breakers, loose wires and general power failure. Electrical spikes can also cause false alarms or damage the smoke alarms. Smoke detector is off the ceiling and the battery has been removed but the beeping continues

Oh look whose here! "Hello 7.30am, I've been expecting you. Four thirty am was here earlier, but he's gone now." There are some geographical areas that we are unable to offer next day delivery as standard, such as the Scottish Highlands. We are unable to guarantee next day delivery to the following post codes AB31, AB33-38, AB44-56, IV, HS, KA27-28, KW, PA20-88, PH17-26, PH30-44, PH49-50, TR21-25 and ZE. Are the alarms less than ten years old? Once older they can become erratic. Replacement units are easy to fit

In an interlinked system when one unit detects smoke, all alarms sound. To silence the alarms in case of a false alarm, press the hush button on the unit that has detected the smoke. This will silence all interlinked alarms. For most Ei Electronics mains powered alarms a replacement kit is available - this contains an original Ei replacement alarm which is compatible with the old system and contains instructions on how to install.

Heat sensing thermistor detects high temperatures and is immune to nuisance alarms from everyday fumes The new alarm can interlink with any other Ei140/140RC series alarms remaining in your system, along with many other Ei Electronics / Aico models. The more modern optical sensor technology in the Ei146e is less susceptible to false alarms, making it suitable for use in a wider range of locations such as rooms adjacent to kitchens, hallways, landings, bedrooms, and living areas. The most common source of false alarms in smoke detectors is contamination (such as dust and small insects) within the sensor chamber. Cleaning the unit by either vacuuming around the central detection chamber or blowing it out with the cold setting on a hair dryer normally resolves this issue. The radio interlinked smoke alarms of the Ei140 series alarms, while having been fitted by an electrician, are not interconnecting. Solution For most Ei Electronics mains powered smoke alarms, a replacement kit is available containing a compatible smoke alarm, and in the case of Ei140 and Ei160 alarms, the new head just slides onto the existing base without the need for an electrician. As a last resort - which clearly should have been my first - I went online for support, I mean solutions, and found this suggestion. It totally totally worked. Remove the alarm from its base and press the test button to drain the residual charge. Does the beeping stop? If not, you have a different alarm in the room that is beeping, e.g. a CO alarm with a low battery One of the Ei168 radio bases flashes amber light every 10 seconds. All other bases in the group are fine. Solution
