I brought the whole collection of the books but I think this one is my favourite- the only downside is they’re annoyingly catchy and memorable so I end up wandering round saying the words which really just sums up maternity leave life lol! The illustrations are truly lovely and they have provided great opportunities for discussing friendship, woodland animals, and in this story, different colours (the books), food and sharing with friends.Julia Donaldson is author of many of today’s best-loved picture books including The Gruffalo and Stick Man. I really enjoy getting the children in the audience to help me act out the stories and sing the songs. This prompted me to unearth some plays I’d written for a school reading group, and since then I’ve had 20 plays published. I really like these books, short and rhyming with lovely illustrations and ‘flaps’ for your little one to faff with and enjoy.
