Description

So what Aston is the best to drive? In our opinion, the best Aston Martin to drive is the Aston Martin DB11. This supercar went to production in 2016 as the successor to the Aston Martin DB9, but with an entirely new design and sleeker new look. It was the first supercar released as part of the manufacturers 'second century' plan, and the first supercar launched since their deal with Daimler AG. The transmission is a dual-clutch 8-speed ZF 8HP75 paddle-shift gearbox and is available with either a 4.0 L Mercedes-AMG M177 twin-turbocharged V8, or 5.2 L Aston Martin AE31 twin-turbocharged V12 engine. From initial sketches to the finished car, this four-part book offers a fascinating read about the fights, worries, challenges, financial issues and politics occurring when a traditional sports car brand and a leading Formula 1 team join forces to engineer the first genuine road legal Formula 1 car. Limited to just 300 numbered copies, the four volumes are housed in a stunning slip case with each volume covering a different stage of the journey to the finished car. Volume one starts with the founding of the relationship between Aston Martin and Red Bull, while the final volume looks at initial testing and assembly of the finished cars. If you are booking directly onto a date for an Aston Martin Experience please note that you are making a booking request and the date and time that you choose will still be subject to availability. Inside Valkyrie’ by WAFT is a four part book which covers the entire development of Aston’s ultimate hypercar, together with all details, anecdotes and long talks with all protagonists. Part one tells how Red Bull and Aston Martin came together. Part two explains the design process and the aero development, including a private lecture by Adrian Newey. Part three reveals how many endless days were spent on the engineering of engine, chassis, gearbox, active suspension and what else, while part 4 is almost like an exciting novel, testifying what a tough endurance race testing and assembly eventually became. It’s limited to 300 numbered copies only and available in the CD Shop.

V8 enthusiast Rowan Atkinson introduces the book with a glowing foreword, in which he insists, “You will be agog at the depth of the book’s analysis and the extraordinary detail it provides of the history of the V8s.” With over 400 archive images, many previously unseen, the reader is transported behind the scenes of the most fascinating period of Aston Martin’s history. These pictures are accompanied by more than 120 stunning colour photographs of the principal models. René Staud is a masterful photographer: his artworks are finely balanced compositions of light and color contoured with a flash. His portraits of captivating car bodywork have made a distinctive mark in the world of modern automotive photography.” Ties in with the successful original edition with two issues and almost 10,000 copies sold, but also with the last René Staud titles: The Jaguar Book (published in autumn 2021 and already reprinted in February 2022) and Mercedes-Benz. The 300 SL Book (published in April 2022) The special design with a cover printed on hot foil and the large format also make the book a highlight on the outside. How well the two harmonise is shown by this high-quality illustrated book, which truly invites you to dream and indulge. Inspiring impressions and concise texts make it possible to immerse oneself in the exciting Aston Martin cosmos and discover many unknown stories. In his foreword, the author and automotive (design) expert Paolo Tumminelli puts it in a nutshell: "No car manufacturer has gone down more often. No other has been resurrected every time. Is that why the logo bears the wings of the phoenix?"From bestselling author, racer and stunt driver Ben Collins - the man who was The Stig - comes a story of spies, speed and hard-driving a driver's love letter to one of the world's best-loved machines. There is full pictorial coverage of the centenary celebrations that took place throughout 2013, including January's Centenary Dinner, the Nürburgring 24 Hours, Villa d'Este, Le Mans 24 Hours, the Centenary Week and Concours in Kensington Gardens, London and Pebble Beach, California. Share the passion, history and a great liking for the cars build by David Brown company, from an artistic and precise angle. As Rowan also observes in his foreword: ‘Goodness, things were done differently then and it’s a joy to be reminded of it.’ Exactly so – and this definitive work is a joy in so many ways.” – OCTANE Other important things to consider when purchasing Aston Martin Experiences is that the driver meets all of the requirements in terms of age, weight, height and driving licence. Each experience will have its own unique requirements so make sure you have read the important information thoroughly.
