Easy setup. It took me about half an hour to create my water feature, and the vast majority of this time was filling the pot with sand and arranging the stones on the top. There really is very little in the way of component setup. The hydria fountain is powered by a rechargeable battery located within the unit. State of the art battery and power management technology are used to deliver an impressive runtime of up to two months on a single charge.

In Hellenistic times, during the third and first half of the second centuries B.C., a new regional type of hydria developed, known as the Hadra hydria (water jar used as a cinerary urn). These vessels take their name from the Hadra cemetery of Alexandria, Egypt, where many examples were first discovered in the late nineteenth century. However, scientific analysis and research have revealed that the Hadra hydriai were made in western Crete, and exported to Egypt. They were also used for burials on Crete and have been excavated in tombs at Phaistos. It's so easy - just create your display with the easy-to-assemble kit, add water and ENJOY! A water fountain soothes the senses and makes a peaceful addition to zen garden, patio, yoga studio, memorial garden, office, bedroom, kitchen, sunroom and more - indoors or out. Like its terracotta counterpart, the kalpis became the most popular form of bronze hydria in the fifth century B.C. These metal vessels were used not only for water but also as cinerary urns, ballot boxes, votive offerings, and as prizes for competitions held at Greek sanctuaries ( 26.50). The occasional inscription on a rim describes their use as an offering to a god or as a prize for an athletic or music competition. Many well-preserved examples of these bronze vessels have been found in tombs.Choose a watertight container, add the kit and customize the options for fountain height, timer and lights colors I’m impressed with this little kit. It may be a simple product to setup and run, but there’s a wealth of clever technology and features that make it a really innovative and modern fountain kit. The team behind the product have taken all of the hassle out of the setup and running, and created a truly flexible water feature that can even be used by households who don’t have any outdoor space.

Do you like the idea of adding a water feature to your home, but worry that doing so will involve lots of hassle? hydria is designed to be used in a pot. As long as the pot diameter is 30cm or above, you can use whatever pot you like.I like the fact that you can play around with the settings so easily; it allows you to change the mood and impact of the water fountain instantly whenever you feel like a change. You can use hydria indoors, outdoors, or a mix of both. If you use a lightweight pot it’s easy to move it around, so you can enjoy it in different locations. I’ve set mine up in our open plan living area at the moment. This cordless, battery-powered remote-controlled water feature will run for an incredible two months before it needs recharging, and you can redesign the feature as often and easily as you wish. There’s no better gift for your special someone this festive season! Follow the guides below to create your perfect patio fountain that garden birds will love! Remember, you will need a pot with an opening of 30cm or more to contain your Hydria™. Hydria ™ Components Diehl, Erika. Die Hydria: Formgeschichte und Verwendung im Kult des Altertums.
