Compared to Periodic Be, the Be is both more bassy with a a bit more mid treble presence and less of that 2.

Every audiophile, it seems, has a moment where they discover Etymotics, and their perspective is forever changed. The treble crashes, strings, etc, have slightly more body, but seem to be missing some micro definition. The ER2XR offers Etymotic’s renowned isolation featuring a variety of ear tips to provide 35dB+ of noise reduction so you will hear the detail buried in the mix without raising the volume to compensate for ambient noise .

Finally, the tiny ER2’s offer, once properly fitted, downright astonishing levels of bass extension, impact, clarity, and low-end grip. While the ER4SR uses a single balanced armature (BA) driver, as all past ER4 variants have, the ER2SE uses a dynamic driver. It’s a little bit cool, a little bit detail-oriented, but clear as a bell, and very natural-sounding – everything rendered quite well, with both enough body and enough presence. Just know that they have a deep insertion, but other than that anybody should be happy to have this as a commuter IEM, beater IEM, or just a really good IEM for the money that they can use until they decide to upgrade to a higher end IEM. Possible Bluetooth connection problems aside, wired audio outperforms all wireless streaming regardless of what high-quality Bluetooth codec is used.ER2SE is a great choice for audio creators and musicians on a budget, who require a precise and neutral sound reproductio I got the FIIOs as a gift from a friend but they now belong to my one sister because I guess that's just how things turn out sometimes. This concern manifests itself in Etymotic’s commitment to building earphones offering extremely high (35dB – 42dB) levels of noise isolation. Neither is going to be at all appropriate for bassheads – generally speaking, I’d say true bassheads should probably steer clear of Etymotic. There is no one who loves pain itself, who seeks after it and wants to have it, simply because it is pain.

At Etymotic’s suggestion this review focuses on the ER2 models, partly because they are the firm’s newest offerings, but also because they represent the lowest cost means of accessing Etymotic’s famous high accuracy sound. Well, I'd say the bass and treble on the 2XR are strikingly similar to the FDX1, but that 4khz bump from the JVC is now shifted down to 2. Some additional measurements from him aren't on the database yet, because it's not currently configured to accept impedance measurements from both channels, distortion at 104 dB, etc.Etymotic isn’t playing around: it takes audio seriously and has mastered the art of the noise-isolation earphone. Etymotic designs products to measure, protect and improve hearing, and enhance the listening experience of music lovers everywhere. The IE 40 Pro, released end of last year, is a great monitoring IEM that has seen a lot of unanimous praise in these circles. emphasis that really stuck out when coming from my full sized headphones, even those with a 3k bump like my modded HD580.
