Elijah Ballard, an ambitious young boy, is off to save his sister from the hands of the Propater Federation, a government-like organization that controls a big portion of the world, which has been plagued by the Closure virus for about 40 years. Sophia lived through her entire childhood without any help for her continued self-harm and multiple suicide attempts.

The world of Eden isn’t for the feint of heart: it’s a testament to Endo’s skill as an artist just how disturbing some of the more gruesome panels in this volume are, and what I’ve seen of further volumes only dials this up. It's like at the beginning of each episode the enemies recieve via fax the script and the location of them. Not entirely successful, they kidnapped Elijah's mother and sister to keep Enoah from opposing them too much. We also get to know the cyborg hacker Sophia, the gang lord Pedro, the prostitute Helena, the circumstances they faced from birth and the choices they made which eventually entangle their fates inextricably together.I think the next manga I'll read will be 'A Drunken Dream and Other Stories' by Moto Hagio, looks interesting, so many good books to read. Book Ends: The covers for Volume 1 and Volume 18 are of Ennoia and Hannah lying on the flood next to wires and parts of Cherubim. I don't know how to review manga, but I want to still share some of my thoughts on Eden: It's an Endless World! The solution humanity comes up with "merely" changes this into extreme climate change that results in the extinction of several animal species. I can only presume that Hiroki Endo himself is a fan; it’s not as though he used it because it was a recognizable, iconic image that would help set the scene, so he had to have other reasons.

Alors qu'ils croient le monde anéanti, Enoa Ballard et Hannah Mayall, deux adolescents immunisés à leur naissance, voient arriver des hélicoptères appartenant à la puissante organisation internationale : le Propater. Eden is a series I think that I could quite easily read in it's entirety, the drawing is a great balance between simplicity and detailed study, the whole tone is one that could be labelled as being speculative, the cover states that it's for mature readers, the first volume is in fact quite mild, although I think as the series goes on, I gather things become more explicit, the volumes that come after this one look in turn at the histories of the central characters, although I think before I take them up I may turn to Endo Hiroki's two volume collection Tanpenshu.Characters are regularly killed off, beaten, wounded, tortured, crippled, and raped by villains and heroes alike; and The Messiah, despite the religious overtones, is a minor character. is a thoughtful and immersive story, an unflinchingly gritty meditation on the ugly business of life and death. Nous sommes arrivés à la conclusion de cette incroyable épopée où l'auteur décrit avec justesse la complexité de la nature humaine et son comportement face à sa possible destruction. It also shows us the impact that technological advancement had on this post-apocalytic reality through cyborgs, the new distribution of territories in the world as the case of the Propater organization, the reality that most of this territories had and the conflicts between them. The complex relationships between characters avoid many forms of easy classifications, and many of the characters fail to fall into stereotypical molds.

Hiroki Endo put an emphasis on presenting the stark setting and conditions of living in the volume, and also made it clear that it is an intelligent plot no matter how slow it is. Several of the characters also barter away their humanity by transferring into cybernetic bodies so that they can escape the disease. EditSynopsis In the panic surrounding a worldwide pandemic which kills 15 percent of the population and cripples many more, a secret organization, the Propater, topples the UN and seizes control of much of the world. But for the characters of Eden, life isn’t about changing the world, but just surviving in it one day at a time. All new pages should use the preloadable templates feature on the edit page to add the appropriate basic page markup. REVIEW UPDATE MAY 2011: I only just learned that Dark Horse will resume publishing Eden and Volume 13 will be out in September 2011.
