Its a book that i wouldn't mind reading every year till i'm old and grey and my eye-sight is so poor that i can't read! Brian the Whine is the father of Rosie’s daughter, Katie, and he decided to leave Rosie with the responsibility of raising the child on her own.

Published as a book with the title Where Rainbows End,and filmed as Love Rosie, this is one of Cecelia Ahern’s best-loved, bestselling novels. Not to mention that it's kind of bittersweet that they finally end up together on the last page, where we can't read any of it, and when they are 50. I want to have that person who wouldn't give up on me, someone who would always be there even in my ugliest day. I really loved her back story, and I'm so disheartened that they didn't add it into the movie but it's understandable.Someone who should have taken the chance to be with you years ago instead of becoming scared and being too afraid to try. also because it's written in this way, there were some parts that felt a bit unnecessary and dragged (just a little bit). Rosie acts cool and asks Alex to take Bethany instead and she and Greg go to the school dance as an item.

Though I'm familiar with the situation, the fact that the story of this book takes place over a few DECADES with the same vicious cycle repeating itself over and over and over and over (x10) again, was really quite painful to read. it also made me realize how important it is to keep your relationships in life, even though the small things like writing a postcard or sending a small gift. They loved each other, that much was clear, but they just got sidetracked, babies happened, wives and husbands and then they couldn't be together. Alex is a caring, thoughtful, sometimes careless, and a character that made me realise that I want my future boyfriend/husband to act with me - joking, playful, caring, thoughtful, and all those things that would be in a best friend.I think there are better romance novels out there and I think I would prefer to spend my time reading those. As she gets older her relationship with Toby changes and it teaches Rosie about her real feelings for Alex. She gets into Boston University, Alex gets into Harvard, and everything is falling into place, when on the eve of her departure, Rosie gets news that will change their lives forever: She's pregnant by a boy she'd gone out with while on the rebound from Alex. I love how this story stands out in all contemporary romances because it is not the typical insta-cheesy love story. She is a sassy (Oh man - the sass is so strong) and a strong-willed young mother who finds that her life goes more like one of those windy and vomit-inducing roller coasters than those basic, 'You go up, you go down, then you arrive at the ending slightly scared, exhilarated, and wishing to do it all again'.

You really get to dig deep into the main character's emotions and feelings this way and I really enjoyed it. A movie will NEVER contain every single detail, every single backstory or side character plot development, or even scenes that were your favourite. Y en el final cuando Katie se arma de valor y apuesta todo para ver como le va con una relación con Toby (casi esperaba que le sucediera lo mismo que a su madre . It was really fun, actually, even though I may have cried a little at the beginning (I know, SO NOT ME).

While Collins recently gained notoriety and some derision for her star turn in Darren Star’s light and frothy Netflix offering Emily in Paris, there’s depth to this actor: she proved her dramatic chops in a supporting role alongside Gary Oldman in last year’s Oscar-nominated Mank, and draws on some of that gravity here. As time passes, Alex and Rosie keep in contact, only to figure out how lonely they are without one another. I'm a man of fifty years of age coming to you, feeling like a teenager in love, asking you to give me a chance and love me back.

years of following their story (It honestly felt like I had 50 years taken from me) and it doesn't end with a, "I've always loved you.

You have entire decades that pass in the span of 3 pages, and then you stay on one year of their life for 100 pages. The characters are especially lovable and engaging, as they are each flawed and faced with struggle, making them ever more relatable and believable. Our life is made up of time; our days are measured in hours, our pay measured by those hours, our knowledge is measured by years. Of course they will make mistakes and BIG ones that can't be mended, but they will learn from them and manage to live with them. i'm surprised at how invested i was into the story – finishing it in three days even though i was quite busy in my ~real~ life.
