Whatever the symptoms you’re dealing with, Rox and Rich’s anecdotes and advice will take the shame out of ADHD and make life more manageable for ADHDers and the ones who love them. I discovered this couple's ADHD humor/informational video bits when I was as at a particularly vulnerable point of my own ADHD journey and they gave me life and made me feel seen. I'm grateful for those willing to be vulnerable in sharing their stories but at the same time do not recommend this book to someone in the beginning stages of understanding their ADHD diagnosis given all the options out there that include a more balanced approach with anecdotes and science. I just wrote and then deleted a massive list of the things I am going to try and be more compassionate about – but you don’t really need to know that!

I liked this book, which discusses the several symptoms of ADHD Rox deals with and how she and her husband Rich navigate them. Może jestem po prostu wrażliwszą osobą ale nie ważne jak blisko bym była z daną osobą żarty tu przytoczone w kontekście niektórych zachowań by mnie raniły. Then I remembered, oh yes, that's because I smashed a pane of window in the door when I locked myself out, or asked a work colleague or neighbour to help me break in. It’s a minefield – and often even people within one community can have really differing views on the language they personally prefer – but I think if you’re trying to be fair and sensible and understanding – then you’re on the right path.Stop believing you are fundamentally broken, - Stop judging yourself by the standards of a neurotypical world, - Communicate your struggles to those who love you, - Support someone with ADHD in ways that work for them, - Be compassionate rather than judgemental, - And much more.

Overall it’s a simple and concise book, filled with personal experiences that may or may not apply to you/your ADHD partner, but is a small step to reframing negative thoughts and hopefully steering people towards the help that they need! I've been reading it with my mom - more to help her understand me, but also to reassure myself I'm not alone with my weird quirks. I devoured this book in a couple of hours and felt my perspective of myself and my adhd shift enormously.

I'm now experiencing what I had only read about and never related to - before my diagnosis I had the highly functioning kind - thriving in school, breezing thru my PhD studies, loads of energy, juggling 5 major tasks at once, Acing tests, all that. I played this to my mum, and it started a really in-depth conversation that we’ve never had before, it made a way for me to open up about things I’ve never told her before. The couple have obviously struggled with her ADHD throughout their relationship, but penning twee anecdotes based on their TikTok / Instagram content does not a book make. I couldn’t help giggling at the “hyper-focusing on this book” line as I sat doing oddball tasks intending to do just that.

I have an undiagnosed ADHD partner (it was my therapist that suggested he might be) and since looking into certain behaviours, things make so much more sense. If you learn to regulate your emotions through breathing or meditation, the stress of losing something can be reduced. And Rich's side of the ADHD struggles makes me hopeful that I don't have to hide that part of myself away. Na plus na pewno sposób napisania książki - podrozdziały, podanie przykładów zachowań aby lepiej uwidocznić problem.

My husband had a lot of the same feelings and it has helped me reading Richard's points to him as well as Roxe. Again, I get what the book tried to do and I appreciate it, but my own personal experience and my views on this subject made me disagree too much to enjoy it or feel like recommending it to anyone. Dirty Laundry by Richard Pink and Roxanne Emery explores the secrets of the laundry industry, tracing its evolution from humble beginnings to a global empire. I did cry for at least 8/10 of the chapters- it is so hard for me to explain that shame you are so good at explaining. I’d recommend this book for anyone struggling with deep despair caused by the ADHD in yourself, your relationships or your family; it’s full of hope, genuine compassion and practical tips. Both Apple and Google state that they ensure that only users who have actually downloaded the app can submit a review. I don't agree with some reviewers who said that ADHD is used to excuse behaviour- it is literally a disability. Rox and Rich you have provided me with invaluable language and methods of describing to people what’s going on inside my head.
