Description

The songs are atmospheric, orchestral retro-'60s-sounding pop that showcases her torchy image and sensuously husky singing style. We use cookies to give you the best possible experience on our site, provide personalised content and advertising, analyse our traffic, and ensure you see more of what you love. Aside from a repeated pop at the end of C2 and beginning of C3 that lasts at least for a minute (and I can't get rid of it even after cleaning the record a few times, but it doesn't bother me that much), my copy sounds just fine to me, I have no other complaints. Born To Die is a strong opener and, in similar tones to Video Games, meshes haunting melody and lyrics with a gritty, torch song quality, oddly verging between dirge and pop.

Del Rey’s bewitching, old Hollywood allure shines through in 'Born to Die', an album that serves as a masterful tableau of love, sadness, and timeless allure. The vinyl format brings warmth and depth to each song, allowing her hypnotic voice and luxuriant melodies to envelop the listener in auras of emotional gravity and timeless grace. In addition to several pressing defects on each side, the engineering is not sufficient whatsoeever for any sort of hifi. Firstly the image: yes, she is striking to look at, but it is anything but an easy look, it's a confrontational look and a mysterious look; she doesn't smile, she looks like she could maybe kill you, given provocation. I would get this if you are a fan of hers (I mean probably every fan owns this by now, i mean we all know how her fans are).In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases. I'm a fan of her music and her albums have progressed in various experimental directions over time, whilst retaining that enigmatic vocal style so loved by people who follow her. Each song on 'Born to Die' is a sonic journey, marked by Del Rey's sultry, velveteen voice and a hauntingly ethereal ambiance that encapsulates her signature blend of glamour and heartache.

The songs are husky and sensual in a way that hits the sweet spot Cat Power has abdicated since The Greatest.

Originally recorded for a stand-alone EP 11 months after the 2012 release of Lana Del Rey’s second album, Polydor releases the eight tracks that made up The Paradise Edition of Born To Die on vinyl. That may seem an overstatement, but I'm speaking as someone who wouldn't listen to the Top 40 if you offered me a large sum of money. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). I would like it if more artists had their music pressed onto 3 sides with the 4th side containing bonus songs.
