I have had my Audio-Technica AT-LP60X for a few months now. And I thought it was time to give it an honest review. Everyone is aware that a wired connection beats a wireless connection. And everybody knows no-one is buying an Audio-Technica LP60-XBT to make a wired connection. The sensible thing would be to join the XBT to a wireless streamer to start with – so that’s what I did. Currently, there isn’t a model that includes all the features, so you have to select which options that are most important for you. If you need any. The standard version is also great and makes it possible to get into vinyl very cheaply. Setting Up If you have a pair of active speakers, like the excellent Klipsch R-15PM, or a tabletop speaker with an auxiliary input like the Google Home Max, then the Audio-Technica AT-LP60X can really help complete your system. It will also pair well with a more contentional AV system for the occasional wind-down session, perhaps with a snifter of port. It's a really flexible and easy-to-live-with turntable. I have a highly upgraded Rega Planar 2 that cost about 10 times more than the AT-LP60XBT that I have used for this comparison.

This turntable is best for when you want to enjoy records in high quality but with complete ease of use.Bluetooth connectivity lets you connect up to your choice of Bluetooth speaker or Bluetooth-equipped hi-fi, wirelessly. Simply pair the turntable with your speaker and enjoy fuss-free connectivity within a range of around 10m.

They both are designed in very similar fashion, of course, so they do share a striking resemblance. But the LP60X is a more refined machine, and I think that (just purely from an aesthetics point of view) it looks better on a table or cabinet than the LP-60 did. Powered speakers have the amplifier built-in and don’t need a separate amplifier or receiver. They are compact and easy to use. Audio-Technica has, understandably and wisely, erred on the side of caution with the XBT’s sound. There’s reasonable separation to the audio image, and an even-handed approach to the frequency range – the mid-range is pushed just slightly forward but it isn’t obvious enough to skew the overall sound. The AT-LP60X is Audio-Technica’s entry-level turntable in its latest iteration. Before it was upgraded in 2019, its model description didn’t include the X at the end. Before 2019 it was sold as the AT-LP60.And I think you will need speakers that are many times more expensive than the AT-LP60X before the turntable becomes the weak link in the system.
