We have a 2001 TDI Bug, 120,000 miles, that seems to have frequent problems with glow plug wiring -- had to replace the wiring harness twice, relay twice, etc. Think I'll be getting only another couple of years out of the car before I trade it in for something else. He says it's possible that either a bulb has burned out, or the brake light pedal switch has gone bad. Your controller will have done enough heat cycles by now for this to be a likely occurance - see if you can borrow another as fitting a replacement is dead easy. If you put the key down, once it's been stationary for a little while it stops 'talking' and the red tell-tale stops blinking.

The brake light switch is like two in one, part does the lights and part does the ecu so it could be that. Most garages now say EGR valve failures are a known issue (mostly showing up in Mk6 TDIs 3 to 4 years / 40k-60k mileage range). As far as confirmation on the voltage necessary to start, I only have my personal experience to go off of. I have the same and for the life of me can’t find an eeprom tool that will read the mk5 cluster using a VCDS plug! There is a little microswitch inside the gear selector unit that tells it when its in park - this commonly fails by intermittently sticking and results in the symptoms you are having.Have spent all day trying to find any other broken connections, doesnt seem to be any, anybody any ideas, this was a low import model according to Haynes,(1600 GTD) so I only have a manual for a Golf petrol. A jump was enough to get it started but putting the battery on a trickle charger at home overnight was not enough for the car to start the next day! I have a 2009 Jetta TDI and the check engine light cane on and then a few days later the glow plug light started flashing. Giving you the same quality, distance and performance of standard golf balls, these Flashing Tracer Golf Balls will illuminate on impact, then flash for five minutes, making them easy to spot (even in the bunker!

With CBEA and CJAA engines, the factory documentation may show the wrong part location for the Exhaust Gas Pressure Sensor 1 (G450). Golf Simulator Forum is the center point for discussion on golf simulator products, brands, manufacturers, launch monitors and everything else related to golf simulation.

After that everything has been fine with no glitches or anything, except it ran like shit for 20 minutes after that happened. As for me, the part that says D/S/N/R etc on the MFD didnt say anything and my car wouldnt shift above 1st gear. Not sure if that can be due to winter fuel, the extreme cold, or whatever's causing the GPL to flash. I've asked a friend to loan me his VCDS cable to see if there's something my code reader isn't pulling up, but this I find very strange. The only way to confirm the real issue is to have a diagnostic check done (where the car is connected to a computer and the fault codes logged by the car's computer are read).
