A 45g jar lasts two months, so it's reasonable value for money, plus the availability of mini sizes is useful so you can try it before committing to a bigger size. Salt of the earth – 3/5 stars. I really couldn’t get on board with having to hold this deodorant under the tap for a few seconds before putting it on. It felt awkward to use and I felt I wouldn’t be able to apply it very well if I didn’t have access to a tap. However, it’s worth noting that there are other options available from the brand, such as the Salt of the Earth spray or the Salt of the Earth balm.

Salt makes food taste better, either by adding flavor to something that would otherwise be bland (chips or fries), by enhancing flavors that are already there (vegetables), or by providing a contrast with a very different sort of taste (mmm, salted caramel). This is probably the use of salt that most of us think of, because it’s the only one of the five that still applies today. Regardless of whether Jesus’s original audience would also have thought of it first—and they may not have—it is a powerful illustration of the way Christians are to serve the world. We’re intended to spread throughout the world and enhance it, adding flavor to things that would be bland, drawing out the blessings of whatever is good, and providing a contrast by being distinct and different. When Paul tells us to ensure that our speech is “seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person” (Col. 4:6), this is the kind of thing he has in mind. The company says its products are 100% natural, free from preservatives, alcohol, artificial fragrance and palm oil, and are registered with The Vegan Society.

Make Up & Fragrance

We don’t want to be dull and bland. We don’t want to lose any of the flavor You have created and purposed for us to behold! Please, Lord, use our lives to bring out the best in everyone You purposefully place around us. Give us self-control and make us slow to speak. Let our actions and words bring glory and honor to You. Forgive us for the times we have fallen short, and for the times we will undoubtably fail again. Don’t let our sins stop us, Father. Help us to keep confessing, repenting, and turning from the sins that so easily entangle us. Jesus, thank You for being our Salt and Light. It is You in us, the true Salt and Light, that seasons and shines our lives and those around us. We love you more every day and will continue to pursue You, no matter the cost. For we know the pain this side of heaven is a reality we will face and walk through. Strengthen us to persevere, and rejoice, through it all, knowing everything we walk through here on earth brings us one step closer to You. Similar to the Natural Deo Co offering, it contains bicarbonate of soda and arrowroot to help prevent odours by altering the skin's natural pH. Have you ever had the opportunity to tell someone about Jesus face-to-face, only to see the person shut down completely? As if the warm, friendly relationship suddenly turned cold? It’s hard to know what to say or how to move forward when we try to tell people about the saving grace of Jesus. And if someone senses the conversation headed that direction, they may be tempted to put up a wall of resistance. Being the salt of the earth shows us a better way. Offering one of the world’s most comprehensive ranges of skin-friendly deodorant formats, Salt Of The Earth sets the benchmark in all-natural personal hygiene. Its pump spray variant, without any aluminium chlorohydrate or parabens, delivers long-lasting, effective protection and is both vegan and cruelty-free. Formulated with natural mineral salts - potassium alum is the key ingredient - it creates an invisible antibacterial layer over the skin’s surface that helps control the growth of odour-causing bacteria and allows the skin to breathe. Enriched with magnesium oil and soothing aloe vera, it is also kind to sensitive armpits. With a botanical aroma of ocean notes, melon, citrus and coconut it leaves no white marks on clothes and absorbs rapidly without a trace. The recyclable plastic bottle, which is made from 50 per cent plant-derived materials is also refillable; the 500ml refill bottle will last months and is obviously kinder to the planet.

Aurelia: 3/5 stars - Once I got used to applying this, I ended up really liking it. By putting the deodorant on your armpit by hand, it meant you could put on as much or as little as you wanted, which was especially useful. Overall, the phrase salt of the earth is used to refer to a good, honest, moral person. This term is often associated with blue-collar workers and has its origins in the New Testament of the bible. A key fear is around aluminium in deodorants potentially causing cancer. The theory is that aluminium compounds such as aluminium chlorohydrate or aluminium zirconium, used to stop sweating, can be absorbed through the underarms and cause breast cancer.

What is Salt of the Earth Deodorant

Salt was the ancient equivalent of refrigeration. If you wanted to stop meat or fish from decaying, you could rub in salt and make it edible for longer. This was the main reason salt was so valuable. Roman soldiers were sometimes paid in salt, which (as an aside) is the origin of our word “salary.” Making the switch at a time when you don't have lots of high-stress work, activities or social events will take the pressure off. If organic credentials are important to you, look for a Soil Association certified brand - either a COSMOS Organic logo or COSMOS Natural logo (where products contain lots of ingredients which cannot be organic, such as water, salt or clay, but might contain organic ingredients, too). Dr Olioso says: 'I suspect this is more a case of people becoming more aware of and getting used to their own smell and how much they sweat - things they may have become dissociated from because of many years of using conventional products.'
