LONG LASTING COMFORT Enjoy all day comfort and cushioning from the midsole construction and OrthoLite Hike footbed. The first thing to note about the Expeditor Ridge 2.0 boots is how light they feel on the feet. Anyone used to walking in leather boots will immediately notice the difference. Somewhat disappointingly, the Berghaus Expeditor Ridge 2.0 Boots had a little less padding at the top of the boot above the ankle than I was used to. I would hazard a guess that this was to assist with weight saving and didn’t instil a great deal of confidence knowing where I would be taking them. For this review, I took a bit of a shot in the dark, buying a pair of Berghaus Expeditor Ridge 2.0 Boots online that were just half a size larger than I would usually wear. Help stop slips with excellent grip from the VIBRAM® rubber sole • Maximise grip on every step, with the new anti-mud-clogging system

Waterproof your feet - banish muddy puddles from your worry list and concentrate on the trail aheadFrom Helvellyn to the Himalyas, Berghaus has an amazing ability to tap into that feeling of joy and discovery in the outdoors. Even in the driving hail, it’s where we all feel at home. This is the feeling behind Berghaus. From the first shop in the North East of England, Berghaus have come a long way. In 50 years, they’ve used their experience to design, test and develop well thought out kit that’s built to last. Loved worldwide, Berghaus know that the difference between enjoying the outdoors and truly loving it is all down to one simple thing. Ideal Berghaus kit. SHEER COMFORT Keep feet feeling revived and comfortable with superb cushioning from the OrthoLite® Hike footbeds. Berghaus have upgraded the lightweight comfort with a streamlined, one-piece construction in soft but strong leather that resists water, laughs off abrasions and helps prevent blisters. Weighing less than a kilo per pair, the Supalite II GTX won't slow you down and won’t compromise on performance, durability or comfort

It was just over three months ago that my wife and I embraced the world of hiking, and it has revolutionised and reinvigorated our lives. Not a weekend goes by with us not heading out into the great outdoors, breathing fresh air, and pushing our bodies to limits that we would never have envisaged earlier in the year. To prepare for our adventures, we have gone on somewhat of a spending spree, buying Scandinavian-made outdoor clothing and multiple sets of boots, which included the Berghaus Expeditor Ridge 2.0 Boots. And for such lightweight walking boots - at 1020g per pair - these are well-built, using quality leather and solid stitching all over. Walking and hiking footwear can be expensive so you need to do your homework to ensure you get the right ones for you.The Expeditor boot is lightweight at only 1020 grams per pair; so they certainly wont slow your pace. With an upper made from scuff resistant leather and AQ water resistant lining; you will remain comfortable what ever the weather. I have walked for over six hours in the pouring rains of the Lake District: Wast Water; and for over four hours in the snows of the Pyrenees: Ibon de Gorgutes and Puerto de Glera; yet my toes remained warm and dry throughout Traction: The outsoles of Berghaus walking boots are usually equipped with robust and grippy patterns that provide excellent traction on various terrains, including wet, muddy, or slippery surfaces. This feature enhances stability and helps prevent slips and falls. That slight grumble aside, the Expeditor Ridge 2.0 boots’ clever design meant I didn’t notice any pain whilst ascending and descending, and the big bonus was that my feet remained warm and dry throughout the somewhat extreme hikes, and this included me taking the opportunity to walk through every mountain stream I came across. The Berghaus Expeditor Ridge 2.0 boots claim to be all-season, and one of their major selling points is their light weight, which is 1020gms for the pair. In comparison, my Trezeta boots are over 1400gms for the pair, and although this is hardly noticeable on shorter walks, if you’re planning to do something like Yorkshire’s Three Peaks Challenge, it could make a considerable difference. Almost a year has passed since this review and sadly the quality of the Berghaus boot has come to light. The glue has given way between the upper fabric of the right toe box where it meets the sole on the inside of the shoe. In addition, the stitching on the outside of right boot has failed; to the extent that water easily enters the boot. This leaves me with a wet foot, on the gentlest of walks without puddles.
