Description

Dangerous Lady was a four-part British mini-series TV drama, which aired on ITV and was based on Martina Cole's 1992 novel of the same name. What Maura goes through in the beginning with her policeman boyfriend then realising that she wants the relationship to continue but he dumps her as she is a Ryan ! When it comes to the crunch, Maura has to face the pain of lost love in her past —and the dangerous lady discovers her heart is not made entirely of stone. Synopsis:No one thinks a seventeen-year-old girl can take on the hard men of London's gangland, but it's a mistake to underestimate Maura Ryan: she's tough, clever and beautiful and she's determined that nothing will stand in her way. The police are determined to put Maura away once and for all - and not everyone in the family think that's such a bad idea.

I will read one of Cole's recent novels to see whether her youth when writing Dangerous Lady explains some of the weaknesses - I am just amazed (based on reading Dangerous Lady) how massively successful Cole's novels are.

I made it to 68 pages to the end and decided to read the last chapter and sadly I don’t think skipping any of those pages made me regret my decision to read the end. The plot covers the exploits of the Ryan family up to the mid-1980s, culminating in the death of Michael Ryan and the arrest of Maura. With Maura masterminding it, they pull off an audicious gold bullion robbery and have much of the Establishment in their pockets. I had it in mind to muse on the fact that she is a best-selling author, that she certainly knows the world of crime and criminals and that she is without any doubt a compelling story teller. This is not intended to be a full statement of all your rights under the Distance Selling Regulations. This was another brilliant book from Martina Cole which had everything from a love story to sadness with rags to riches thrown in. No one thinks a 17-year-old girl can take on the hard men of London's gangland, but it's a mistake to underestimate Maura Ryan: she's tough, clever and beautiful - and she's determined not to be hurt again, which makes her one very dangerous lady. Although initially shielded from the going ons of the Ryan brothers, she enters into the family business as they attempt to rule the East End.

That you learnt how her relationships with her family were affected by her lifestyle, how her past experiences shaped her romantic relationships and how the choices she made sometimes didn’t turn out the way she hoped. She is the bestselling author of fourteen novels set in London's gangland, and her most recent three paperbacks have gone straight to No.When it comes to the crunch, Maura has to face the pain of lost love in her past – and the dangerous lady discovers her heart is not make entirely of stone. of our deliveries are made by Royal Mail as we think they give the best service and cover all areas of the UK. The story is mainly about Maura and how she transformed from being an innocent girl to being one of the toughest criminals in England . Once you're hooked on Maura Ryan, be sure to read MAURA'S GAME , the second book from 'the undisputed queen of crime writing' ( Guardian). The saga spans 30 years and contains all the elements of a typical mobster family: Protection rackets, sleazy Soho nightclubs, gold bullion heists, violent criminals and bloody and brutal exterminations.

As of 2021 [update] she has released twenty-six novels about crime, most of which examine London's gangster underworld. The endless details of insignificant acts or the sudden backstory of a character that paragraphs later would be wiped from the story only added to the long drawn out nothingness that this book built towards. Overall what counts is that this was an easy read and compelling enough to not get boring or drag over its 600+ pages! It starts by telling us about Sarah Ryan and her circumstances and then we learn about the rest of her children.Despite this being predominantly a crime novel, I loved the way that the family saga was wound and weaved into the story. Along with TV executive producer, Barry Ryan, Cole co-owns the film and television production company "2 Queens".
