Description

There are outdoor range hoods that are made specifically to go above your outdoor grill of choice. Keep the following recommendations in mind when making a selection: The oil drum BBQ is the largest of the charcoal barbecue models. These are usually made from half an oil barrel, although the other half may be used as a lid. An oil drum charcoal BBQ will hold a lot of coal, which makes it suitable for cooking large amounts of food, and it can be used for hog roasts or for slow cooking large pieces of meat. However, the size of the oil drum BBQ means that it can be inconvenient too. It will take a lot of barbecue charcoal to fill, while poorly designed models may never really get hot enough to cook your food. Although gas barbecues are typically less expensive to run than gas barbecues, you should expect to have to invest a lot of money in buying coal to fill an oil drum barbecue. So if you want to run your barbecue on bottled propane gas or get a gas engineer to hook up the barbecue to a mains natural gas supply, build up from scratch or let Beefeater do it all for you with their awesome Beefeater Artisan Corner Kitchen then there will be something for you.

The temperature needs to reach 200-250°C before you start cooking. Depending on how powerful the barbecue is and whether or not it has a hood, it will take around 5-10 minutes to heat up.

The hood should be larger than the grill you’ve chosen so that it can “catch” the smoke a little easier.

There are many reasons that people fall in love with their outdoor kitchens, but the main reason is that it gives them the freedom, and control, to create their own stylish look that will enhance a patio, terrace or garden outdoor living area which will be exactly how they want it to be with food preparation and storage options being precisely where they are needed - plus they make a great setting and focal point for socialising and, even better, nothing matters if dropped on the floor.Barbecues without hoods may have height-adjustable grills, which allow you to adjust the cooking temperature. You can move the grill towards the charcoal for more heat, or move it away to lower the temperature. Top charcoal barbecue tips It is even possible to buy a fridge unit for your outdoor garden area. If you have the room and the budget, then buying all the cabinets and unit space that you need at once will ensure that you have what you need and can offer you a discount compared to buying everything individually. There’s a lot of choice out there, but by far the most popular with our cabin owners & the most readily available is No Nonsense Wood Treatment from Screwfix. It's available in 3 shades - clear, light brown & dark brown. We advise the clear or light brown & we would always recommend trialling whichever treatment you choose on a hidden part of your cabin beforehand you go the whole hog, to make sure you’re happy with it. Make sure you treat every part of the exterior wood, including the eaves. Lots of our BBQ Cabin owners choose to treat the floor & tray tables with clear yacht varnish to make cleaning easier whilst keeping the wood protected. We advise against treating the inside of the cabin walls & roof as the wood needs to stay breathable so that moisture can escape through the timber, and avoid condensation and mould. If you’re using your cabin grill regularly, moisture inside the cabin shouldn’t be an issue, as the heat inside will keep the wood mould-free. We advise using the cabin at least weekly during the colder, damper months. Also, try not to leave your windows open all the time or for long periods of time, as due to the timber moving, the windows may change shape and become difficult to close.

When we come out to you & install your BBQ Cabin we will give it a coat of Sovereign wood treatment which is trade-only at present, but there are plenty of great options out there that you can use to keep your cabin looking amazing, year after year. How Often Should I Stain My BBQ Cabin? Set up your barbecue in a spot that’s shielded from wind – this will make it easier to light and moderate heat levels. Some hooded models let you hang the hood from the side of the basin while you’re grilling – where it doubles-up as a handy windshield. No matter how good the charcoal barbecue you choose, if you don't have the right cooking tools and accessories, your barbecuing experience will be diminished. Buy good quality utensils that last, ensure that you have the right type of barbecue charcoal, and, if you want to cook dishes more complex than the usual burgers and sausages, then you can buy additional accessories to further improve your grilling experience.A built in BBQ provides a convenient place to prepare food, especially if you regularly eat outdoors. And, at BBQ World we have a large selection of both gas and built in charcoal BBQs, cabinets and units, and even fridge units from Napoleon, Beefeater, and Cadac. Built in units are not only a more permanent solution, but they tend to be more robust, can be combined with outdoor units that offer similar functionality to kitchen units, and they are the ideal choice for the serious outdoor chef. For the safety of your cabin, we advise that you do not leave your cabin unattended until your fire has completely gone out. Our BBQ hoods are adjustable if you wish to lower the hood for cooking or raise the hood to allow a clear view of all your cabin guests. It’s also very important to take care of the BBQ unit after each use. We suggest that the ashes/embers are removed from the grate. If marinades, fats, and oils have been used, the unit is cleaned with a mild detergent to dissolve the remnants. There are some food-approved sprays which you can use for the grate. Those sprays give protection from corrosion. You should also remove any charcoal/wood debris after each use of your barbecue to avoid dampness and rust. Napoleon built in BBQs come in either natural gas or propane models. They include at least four stainless steel main burners while larger models have 6 or more burners, side burners, and even an oven where you can prepare bread and other items. The most popular questions we get asked here at our Nottingham HQ are how do you look after your BBQ Hut once it’s been installed, & what do you use to treat your cabin to keep it looking as lovely as the day it arrived? Well, gang, in this blog we're going to cover just that... Having a powerful fan is very important. We usually recommend nothing lower than 1200 cubic feet per minute (CFM).
