The drawing prompt for this week is FLOWER.Here is cute watercolor flower with a touch of kawaii. I created this drawing with a combination of watercolor pencils, paints, and felt-tip pen outlines. If you like the woodland aesthetic, you’ll love drawing your own version of this bunny with a mushroom basket. I like how the artist placed a mushroom at the top of the rabbit’s head. 38. Getting the hair right will take some practice, but other than that, this drawing is definitely doable for a newbie. 3. Strawberry Cow Credit: @lilypawstudio | Ko-fi

This guide is divided into six files. Each PDF outlines a different area of your character design: body proportions, arms and legs, hair, outfits, animals, and objects. The methodis to break down skill into the smallest learnable units. Then select and practice the units that have the biggest effect on the desired outcome (in this case, ability to draw kawaii).Like building a visual vocabulary of images, storytelling is an on-going practice. I will start simple and build on it. Month 6 You’ll start by drawing a square. There are a couple of options for the exact scale you use. First, you’ll see the 50/50 split, where the head and the body are the same height as each other. The other is the 60/40 split, where the head is even larger and the body is tiny. Ilaria notes this second style is popular in animal illustrations.

The drawing might look complicated… but if you take it 1 element at a time, it will come out great! Kawaii drawings are cute and fun to look which can instantly improve mood. Kawaii is good for your health. This kawaii cat has eyes that are larger than usual. Kawaii eyes are usually simple: just a solid circle or oval. But for this drawing I combined kawaii style and manga style to see if that would amplify the cuteness. What do you think? Here is my cute butterfly drawing with green overtones. I wanted to use an unconventional color for this cutie to challenge myself and bring spring freshness to the drawing. Oh, and did I mention that “sage green” is the hottest color trend right now? 😉 To help remember the steps, Tim suggests an acronym DiSSS (ignore the “i”): Deconstruct, Select, Sequence, Stakes. Let’s draw a cute POPSICLE! I used watercolor wash to create this cutie. I really love how the colors mix and run on wet paper and “do their own thing”. 🙂 No two popsicles come out the same! I am giving myself approximately 6 months to practice. To simplify things I am assuming 4 weeks in each month. I know it’s more, but I am creating a schedule that will go over 6 months x 4 weeks = 24 weeks. Pen skills (Months 1 – 3) Month 1

Anyone interested in kawaii art should give kawaii drawings a try because it is fun to learn! There are great books that feature step-by-step instructions and add challenges for mastery. Kawaii Character Features Now, I know 1 month is NOT enough to learn storytelling. This is just an introduction. My aim is tolearn a few scenes that can be used for kawaii situations. This week’s drawing prompt is BEVERAGE. I couldn’t decide between tea and coffee, haha. So I went with my daughter’s favorite beverage – strawberry milk. You can’t go wrong with pink and Japanese kawaii aesthetic!!! 😀This week’s prompt is YOUR PET – past, present, or future. 🙂Here is my doggie Spike, who was a puppy I adopted from a shelter when I was 18 years old. To create a kawaii drawing, start by thinking of your favorite kawaii thing as your subject. There is no limit to the possible subjects you can draw, but a few of our favorite ones are daily items such as food, animals, and objects. There is no definite appearance or features for kawaii things. It changes based on the person who views something as kawaii. However, general features and characteristics are associated with cute things, such as faces with big round eyes, small noses, and small bodies with large heads.

I have to set up stakes to make sure that I actually show up and do the work. How will I stayaccountable? How will I get through the days when I don’t feel like drawing?
