Description

The new game features famous Cotswolds landmarks – like Sudeley Castle and Broadway Tower – replacing the likes of Mayfair and Oxford Street on the multi-coloured Monopoly property sites. The public were invited to send in general nominations and suggestions for tokens, landmarks and organisations to feature in the game. After it was revealed that the Cotswolds is getting its very own official Monopoly game, three Cotswolds charities are being sought to feature on the new Cotswolds Monopoly board. It is important that we continue to promote these adverts as our local businesses need as much support as possible during these challenging times. Representatives from many of the properties featured in the game attended the launch event on Wednesday, including editor of the Cotswold Journal, Stephanie Preece.

Custom games executive at Winning Moves UK, Ella Gibbs, said: ‘We feel that charities getting to feature on all of the game’s three Community Chest spaces is a great fit, bearing in mind the ‘community’ aspect of these unique Monopoly features. Our very own Emma was invited to the exclusive launch where the much anticipated big reveal unveiled the brand new version of the game, which we just know you are going to love! The new Monopoly board features famous Cotswolds landmarks, including Broadway Tower in the prestigious Mayfair position. To register your interest complete this form and we will be in touch within 7 days regarding availability. There’s also a sheep, instead of the Scottie Dog, along with a camper van (to replace the top hat) and some hiking boots (to replace the old boot). To qualify and be in the running to be selected, the charities must be Cotswolds focused and official registered charities.

Wellies and hiking boots were extremely popular in the wonderful suggestions sent in by the public during a consultation last year – now they get to take pride of place on their own unique square! From today, the public is being invited to suggest landmarks and customised cards to be featured in the board game. Advance to Tewkesbury Abbey, Cotswold Farm Pack and Cotswold Airport – will you owe rent or reap the rewards?

Don’t forget to stop off on the garden colour set and explore the grounds of the Batsford and Westonbirt Arboretums, as well as the 18th-century Painswick Rococo Garden. Ella Gibbs of Winning Moves said: “ A huge congratulations to Cotswold Shoes for getting to feature so prominently in the game. Although the decision has been made to make a board based on the Cotswolds, and some landmarks have been deemed as 'likely' to feature, the public are able to have a say on which landmarks they think should be on the game.

With the Cotswolds getting its very own version of Monopoly, three local charities have the chance to be featured on the Community Chest spaces on the board.already exist, the new Cotswolds Monopoly is set to be a lovely addition to the boardgame collection of locals.
