About this deal

I am of the belief that that if you want to do one simple thing to make food fun and to make the recipient smile, that one thing is to add eyes. Eyes in unexpected places are funny, they just are! At this time of year eyes or eyeballs can also add a creepy element to Halloween food. Over the last few weeks I have posted several new edible eyeball ideas here on the Eats Amazing blog - as I said before, I started brainstorming and couldn't stop! In today's post I'm going to gather them all up in one place, and add a few final eye themed food ideas for good measure. Sprinkle the candy corn, pretzels, Reese’s, M&Ms, candy eyeballs, and Halloween sprinkles, optional, all over the chocolate. Do you absolutely love Hocus Pocus? Watching it is an unbreakable Halloween tradition in my house every year. After they fully set, gently remove the eyes from the parchment paper and transfer to an airtight container or bag until you’re ready to use them.

The eyes are made with royal icing. It dries hard and is perfect for making candy eyeballs. I like using a store bought royal icing mix . You just add water. But it is also easy to make yourself. Ingredients However, that doesn’t mean they aren’t a Halloween favorite. You’ll load them down with M&Ms, peanuts, chocolate chips, and more. Even without the decorations, this brownie recipe is one of my favorites. It turns out the softest, most melt-in-your-mouth brownies.Mix up the powdered sugar, corn starch, vanilla optional and water until an icing like consistency is formed. And don’t forget the fantastic pumpkin pie spice! It takes 5 minutes to have these ready for the oven and another 40 minutes to bake them.

Oooh, that’s an interesting question! I’m not sure how edible it would be in terms of taste, but I imagine you might be able to make these using cornstarch instead of powdered sugar. That being said, I think these googly eyes are best enjoyed as decoration as well.Start out by whisking together the sugar, starch, water and extracts (if using). Mix together into a smooth icing.
