Description

John Ramirez is an internationally known evangelist, author and highly sought-out speaker who for more than 16 years has been teaching believers around the globe how to defeat the enemy. He has shared his powerful testimony–of being miraculously saved as a high-ranking satanic priest–on It’s Supernatural!, The 700 Club, TBN, Daystarand more. Armed and Dangerous is a book by John Ramirez and his wife Dorothy. This is a good book that expands upon the teachings of Jim Jones, who founded a communal society, Jonestown in Guyana, South America. It delves into what Jim Jones teaches about being armed and dangerous – having a power greater than yourself – facing off against the enemy in the inner circle of your life. The first half of this powerful book details how to get the upper hand on any threat or foe you might face. The second half goes even deeper, into realms that will make you feel invincible as you jump from understanding enemies / exes / stalkers / family members to political adversaries, then to organized crime people who have been troves to your own strategy. Note: This book was provided free of charge by Chosen Books. All thoughts and opinions are my own.] Mr. Ramirez points us to the book of Acts to look at how to deal with demonic opposition. He then compares it with the current day church. I only shared this thought of wrath against the divine with close family and friends; however, it dominated my subconscious and conscious thought-life in ways that provoked a powerful moral code—a lofty, self-righteousness that said, “I can be a good man without the help of God”—that ended up getting destroyed when I hit 24.

Even though Mr. Ramirez had a deep history in the occult, and examples from his past are shared, the emphasis of the book is knowing Jesus Christ and walking with Him. “Jesus Christ is the ultimate power, and He is all we need. “(Pg 93) For a variety of reasons, I tend to read a large amount of books about spiritual warfare. Sometimes I am a bit puzzled just how much I read books on the subject, and as someone who reads about the subject often [1], I find that many books, including this one, hit the same talking points and use a language that may be a bit striking and odd to those who are not familiar with it. This book is a lot like many other books about the subject and says many of the same things. It would seem that there are a large number of Charismatic professed Christians with a great interest in the demonic world, likely because it is the shadow side of the spiritual aspects of Christianity that they have such a high regard for. At any rate, this book is not quite as unique as the author would like to believe it to be, but if you are looking for a book that combines personal stories as well as discussion about the workings of Satan in the contemporary world and in the lives of believers, this is certainly a worthwhile option. Bill Queen is the MAN. He's an obvious adrenaline junkie, and loves the thrill of the chase and the takedown. He tells some amazing stories that sound like they could be prequels to Tom Clancy books. Some of the stories he told about busts that had nothing to do with Marc Stephens (the baddie in this book) were way more intense than anything else in the story. For years John Ramirez had served the devil, until he made the best decision of his life, accepting Christ as his Savior. He also points out that it is sad that followers of Jesus Christ has neglected it's calling to be armed and dangerous. We are reminded that God created Lucifer as a Cherub, that he was adorned with precious jewels of all kinds and that he led in worship, but Lucifer got puffed up with pride and decided to exalt himself and be like God, but of course it is The Lord alone that is perfect.

Jesus made it clear that the devil has come to steal, kill, and destroy. Hell is ready to unleash fury against every follower of Jesus. Yet many believers live in denial, letting the enemy steal their blessings, destroy their relationship with Jesus, and kill their hope. He takes the reader through scripture reminding us of the authority we have in Christ, Ephesians 2:6. He encourages us to be equipped for battle by being obedient to God and the Word, to repent of sin, to put on the armor of God, Ephesians 6:18. Full disclosure: I am one of those people who believe in a spiritual realm we cannot see, including the existence not only of angels but demons as well. Why, you may ask? First of all, because I believe God's word that shows us that Jesus himself not only believed in them but showed his power over demons on a regular basis. But also because I have had my own experiences with spiritual forces where God has shown his power over the demonic realm. Here is everything you need to become armed and dangerous against every adversary that threatens your relationship and growth with Jesus. Through the power of the Holy Spirit you can destroy the power of the enemy and protect all that God has given you.

The book was filled with miraculous testimonies and prayers against all types of physical, mental, and spiritual affliction. This helped the reader understand the depths of this invisible arena. He gives a big run-up to the ending, and even touts the end as this big firefight in the pictures and other places, and then it goes out not with a bang but pretty much a whimper. The firestorm part was pretty awesome (and the fate of the weed and guns was hilarious). Maybe i'm just too accustomed to Hollywood endings and expected Stephens to go down in a blaze of glory....?The biggest beef i have with this book, and the reason i rated in 4, almost 3 stars is the ending..... A short book, I found that it was a solid understanding of the spiritual warfare we Christians know exists, but might be reluctant to discuss.
