Release

Whilst performing Autofiction in front of tens of thousands of fans at an entirely sold-out and rapturously received UK tour, Suede marked 30 years to the day since the release of their self-titled debut album with a very special surprise set. The album charted at no. 1 in the UK Albums Chart, selling more than 100,000 copies in the first week. [50] It spent 11 weeks in the top 40. [37] In March 1993 the British Phonographic Industry has certified the album as gold. [51] By September 1994, UK sales were 220,000 and sales outside the UK were around 400,000, with the largest markets being Japan (69,000), Germany (42,000), Sweden (39,000) and France (37,000).
