About this deal

If the people on the rig want to survive, they must trust each other. But doing so becomes increasingly complex, as many workers become affected by what the fog has brought. The horror drama series is a tale of the extreme effects of climate change. Given the world we live in, if that has made you wonder whether ‘The Rig’ is inspired by actual events, here is what we think. So I think that's what David's [Macpherson - the show's creator] script does really well, it's high octane, it's enjoyable, and then I mean, climate change is here, it's not up for debate and we should be very proud of what we achieved in the North Sea in terms of the feats of engineering, and being Scottish it's a part of our heritage we should cherish and it's still got a role to play going forward, but that role is getting greatly reduced. I live in London. I'm married with two children. My third novel, Icarus, was shortlisted for BSFA best novel of 2007. My latest, The Rig, is published by Titan. I can see why this book was abandoned by one publisher and rebranded and sold at a lower price by another: it’s dead in the water. The worldbuilding is fascinating and very impressive. The author has created a stunning vision of humanity's future, because humans have moved to another solar system to live on terraformed planets due to a catastrophe. The System consists of seven major planets and a few minor ones.Martin says: "Yeah, which was one of the selling points for me. I like a bit of rough and tumble. Throughout the series, there are two or three pinnacle action moments and Fulmer gets to be at the heart of one of them. He’s just getting his head down and getting on with his job and then he’s in these situations. That’s interesting to play because it’s not his natural habitat – being the brave one and risking life and limb. The reasons he’s put in those situations are quite wild, but it’s wonderful to play." It's complexity is written extremely well, and I loved how this book made me feel a part of the journey. Throughout, it has an undertone of trying to decide between right and wrong. Again, books which touch on religion normally aren't my jam, but some how this just worked for me. The Rig stars Martin Compston as comminications officer Fulmer Hamilton. (Image credit: Prime Video) The Rig release date... I’m looking for old old picture drawing or plans for vimanas I would rather do the translation to make my own conclusion is the gods making these place rise in the air or do they do it under thier own power also a picture drawing or a primitive blueprint untranslated of this vorcec engine that might use mercury or something I would like to come to a conclusion if some body can help me. Thankyou: B Forsyth Reply The Rig is a Young Adult novel by Joe Ducie with clear science fiction elements about a teenage convict sent to the most secure location on Earth... because he's escaped from everywhere else.

Gehenna is a deeply religious planet where godly writ is followed by all of its inhabitants. The inhabitants are religious fundamentalists who believe in living pure lives. Bleak is a windswept planet where life is harsh. The landscape on Bleak is dominated by enormous rigs that are used to extract the planet's molten core. There's also an unsaid planet that is an enigma to all, because it has retreated into protected seclusion, and there's an asteroid known as Peco. The Rig’ has a fantastic cast comprising mostly Scottish actors. While Iain Glen is mainly known for portraying Jorah Mormont in ‘ Game of Thrones,’ Martin Compston, Rochenda Sandall, and Mark Bonnar are former ‘Line of Duty’ alumni. Besides, Owen Teale, a Welsh actor known for portraying Ser Alliser Thorne in ‘Game of Thrones,’ also appears in the series. “I always wanted a strong Scottish element to the cast,” the creator said. “Someone said to me yesterday: ‘It’s like we have got the Scottish Avengers.’” According to Macpherson, adding Emily Hampshire, a Canadian actress, reflects that oil is an international business. Wardens Are Evil - The Warden is using The Rig for his own purposes. He's obsessed with Crystal-X, a blue drug-like substance that gives superpowers to those exposed to it... generally with a price attached.

I'd never heard of Roger Levy before but I was drawn in by the captivating cover and the intriguing blurb. And fortunately the story itself was as spectacular as the artwork. Derek Wax, Managing Director of Wild Mercury says: “ The Rigis a character-driven, epic thriller, full of heart-grabbing action and bold, original ideas. David Macpherson captures life on a North Sea oil rig with extraordinary authenticity." The Rig will have the same director as hit crime thriller Line of Duty (cast above). (Image credit: BBC/World Productions Ltd)For one, not a single character is likable beyond maybe one or two instances. They were all completely all over the place, where character development was impossible because they never had defining traits to begin with. Mostly, they all were cringe inducing and fury provoking. Honestly, the best ending they could’ve given this book was to kill all of them off. It was impossible to root for anyone because they all were just…totally unlikable.
