In addition there are eight treasurable items from a 1949 Norwegian Radio recital in Oslo, which include her only published recordings of Hugo Wolf. In honor of the centennial of her birth, EMI has released her complete recordings on the label in a three-disc set, an impressive showcase of her artistry in trademark works of Bach, Gluck, Handel and Mahler. Read more about the condition New: An item that is still in its original shrink wrap from the manufacturer and the original manufacturer’s seal (if applicable) has not been removed. Recorded live on Ferrier’s only appearances in Carnegie Hall in January 1948, four months after her acclaimed performance at the inaugural Edinburgh International Festival, Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde reunited her with the conductor Bruno Walter and saw her making first appearances with tenor Set Svanholm and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Während ihrer kurzen aber sehr produktiven Karriere entstanden für Decca zahlreiche Aufnahmen von Operneinspielungen bis zu geistlichen Werken.

Testament is an artist-based label, not restricted to any particular period of recording history, and its releases are selected from the archives of some of the largest record companies and radio stations in the world. In the same year, EMI issued a 3-CD set (Kathleen Ferrier - The Complete EMI Recordings) comprising all her extant recordings for that company plus two previously unissued takes from the 1949 'Kindertotenlieder' and a complete recording of Gluck's 'Orfeo ed Euridice', to which they had the rights. SOMM Recordings’ acclaimed series of re-mastered recitals by the fondly remembered singer continues with Kathleen Ferrier: 20th Century British Treasures.Viele gelten bis heute als Referenzeinspielungen – ihre einzigartige Stimme gilt seit Ferriers frühem Tod im Jahre 1953, im Alter von nur 41 Jahren, bis heute unerreichbar. Testament releases previously unpublished and deleted recordings from their archives, using their original master tapes and 78rpm metal parts for CD remastering. The following list is neither up to date nor entirely accurate, particularly in regard to a CD issue, entitled 'Kathleen Ferrier Remembered', released in June 2017, on SOMM264, comprising 26 tracks, 19 of which have never previously been issued. Sir Thomas Allen, the distinguished interpreter of British song and Trustee of the Kathleen Ferrier Awards, contributes an extensive booklet commentary.

In the film the contralto Nathalie Stutzmann says that Ferrier “had the deepest voice imaginable for a woman,” combining “the color of a chest voice, usually found in male voices, with the clarity of a female voice. Some of these were later issued as commercial recordings; others are held by individuals or in the archives of broadcasting companies.
