James Swallow also wrote some Sisters novels at some point. They’re ok if you have nothing else to read. Playing Sisters of Battle Credit: Games Workshop Kill Team As mentioned, pop these in the Rhino and arm them with Multi-Meltas and they’ll pretty much turn anything they shoot into liquid metal once they open up. They may be a one use only unit once your opponent sees what they can do so try and hit them where it hurts on the first time of use. The relics are pretty decent but nothing too insane. A couple of them are once per game, with pretty decent effects, one giving you a 2+ invuln save for a turn. Stratagems I would also leave these as the basic set up. Again, like with the Arco-Flagellants you do not have many of these so try and entice your opponent into shooting some other more sturdy unit that can take the punishment until these lovely women make it into combat. Both these and the Arco-Flagellants are a great counter punch to enemy CC and also make great objective clearers which can be followed up by the Battle Sisters, who can lend some light fire support to these units.

I don’t have step by steps for this one sadly as I was to eager painting them all in a crazy rush to remember. Fortunately it’s a really easy process to follow. Step 0: Primer The last two are pretty much just misses – Divine Guidance is nowhere near as potent a boost as The Passion and your shooting units don’t need AP help, while Light of the Emperor isn’t totally useless, but is solving a problem this army has no real trouble with, especially now that a roll of a 1 auto-passes morale (meaning bad dice in your MIracle pool can become emergency passes). Stratagems, Traits and Relics The Adepta Sororitas are the military wing of the Ecclesiarchy. Known by many as the Sisters of Battle, they are an army of pious and highly skilled warriors who purge heretics and enemies alike with their 'holy trinity' of bolter, flamer and melta.Wash with Casandora Yellow, again with Fuegan and finally with Blood Angels Red in various places over the whole area (mix for variation).

There are plenty more Sisters of Battle Characters following the expansion of the Adepta Sororitasrange during 9th Edition. Here’s some of the characters you might come across when looking into a Sisters of Battle army:After taking multiple educated guesses and spotting clues around the web, we’ve finally got the official contents revealed being: Both of the bonuses of this are pretty sweet! Not having to roll a wound can make your normal bolters get through some seriously tough enemies much easier. On top of that, if you’re in half range, you will get to rapid-fire and have an additional AP. This means your bolters can dish out some serious damage. 40k Sisters of Battle 9th Edition Secondaries While Bloody Rose gets the most use in competitive lists, Valorous Heart comes a close second (and is the default for shootier armies), and lists combining the two with each doing what they do best are pretty common. Our Martyred Lady The ceiling for the objective is 20 points, but granted that’s nearly impossible, you’ll probably land closer to the 7-10 range, which is still good for a low-stress objective that you can naturally get through the game without changing your game pay too much. 40k Adepta Sororitas 9th Edition Morvenn Vahl Datasheet Unless, of course, you have ambitions of living out the rest of your days as a lobotomised, cybernetically enhanced, drug-fuelled killing machine, that is…

Sister Superior with boltgun. Don’t run yours with this loadout, please. Credit: Alfredo Ramirez Sister SuperiorEither way, the models look great, and hobbyists will be able to get started this year on their armies! Painted versions of what appear to be the models on this sprue were also spotted. Battle Rites (1 CP): Select a Sacred Rite that is currently active and randomly roll a rite to replace it, re-rolling if that rite is currently active. Good if you find yourself having rolled for rites and ended up with a double, but with I would also seriously consider taking some Celestian Sacresants, as with these you’ll find that they make perfect bodyguards for your characters as enemy units are unable to target them. They also come with a 4+ invulnerable save. Last but not least we have the pure army “Doctrine” style effect for the Sisters of Battle. As long as your whole army is Adepta Sororitas or Adeptus Ministorum (i.e. drawn from this book) units with the Sacred Rites ability (all SORORITAS units except mortifiers) gain a bonus.

As for the secondaries, Purge the Enemy seems the best but it is keyword Adeptus Minitorum, so be sure to keep that in mind. Essentially each round you can get 1 point for killing a unit with a bolter, 1 point for killing a unit with a melta, and 1 point for killing a unit with a flamer. If you manage all three in a turn you’ll get a bonus point for a total of 4. Depending on the size of enemy units, you should be able to do 2 of these each round and maybe the 3rd. The significant upgrades to some of the Sisters ranged weapons also means that Spirit of the Martyr has a bit more going for it now. Getting a chance at some final multi-melta shots as your models are on the way out is obviously pretty spicy, and if you’ve skewed heavily towards shooting this is worth thinking about. Ever a warrior first and administrator second, Vahl strides the battlefields of the 41st Millennium clad in Purgator Mirabilis, the finest warsuit of its kind and an ancient relic restored to glory by the Fabricator General of Mars himself. Sadly this is a limited edition set and is no longer available, except hidden away on a few shelves. The original Sisters of Battle armies are now worth an enormous amount and this set is inevitably going to follow in their footsteps, except being plastic, I suspect many fewer figures will survive. :) Read full review Burn the Heretic (1 CP): The only way in the game to re-roll shots, but limited to flamers. Will bump you from 3.5 to 4.5 shots on average, which is handy but not necessarily the best use of CP. C+Oh yeah, and there’s two Commander Aura Tactics to give you re-rolls of 1 to hit or wound (for Repentia), they’re fine. This ability is common to various Ministorum and Sororitas melee units, and is extremely useful on Repentia in particular, helping them do appalling damage on the charge. This ability is what makes most of the units with it good, and is overall a very powerful one. Similar to previous books, the Sisters have some army-building guidelines and detachment abilities. You can only have one Canoness and one Missionary in each Adepta Sororitas detachment. Also, you can’t have more priests than Adepta Sororitas characters. Pretty standard, makes sense that you cant have a bunch of priests leading a force of soldiers into battle. These aren’t as powerful as Doctrines so it’s not as important to keep the army pure in the abstract, but they’re certainly still good and the first on the list, Hand of the Emperor, means that melee strategies gain a lot from this being active. Brutal melee threats pulling off improbably long charges out of Strategic Reserves or Deep Strike is a massive headache for your opponent to have to work around, and adding 1 to your “rolls” lets you pull this off with weaker dice from your Miracle pool. Higher mobility across the board is also just generically great. While we took shots in the dark of what might be inside the Army Set earlier, GW surprised us with some minis nobody was expecting and revealed the true contents of what was inside. Now that we know exactly what to expect in the realm of minis, there have since been prices emerging over the web showing what the Army Set will cost.
