Description

The Boba U4 does benefit from a bit of lube, but does not require film, as the housing is already tight enough and displays no wobble.

TTC Frozen Silent (linear) is even more clean, but they’re light and may need shim material to grip caps properly Gazzew’s unending desire to provide the best in DIY switches contributes a large part to this score, as these are yet again another incredibly accessible, affordable, and high-quality budget option for those entering the scene. The only issue with this is that since its release he’s still continuing to incrementally improve on this Boba line of switches, rendering these bit by bit obsolete as the days go by. OtherThe combination of the two colors makes the Boba U4 appear milkier than Gateron Milkies, and creamier than NK Creams. The top housing wobble, as well, is nothing to scoff at in its own right. While there is absolutely no give to the top housing in any direction on all of the samples that I have tried, this is slightly less impressive given that Gazzew’s tops have been known for having this quality for some time. The consistency of the quality, though, is nearly as impressive as the leaps and bounds made in increasing the tolerances regarding the stem wobble in these switches. Other

Both Zilent V2s and Boba U4s have quite good tolerances with respect to stem wobble. That being said, the slight amount of N/S wobble and slightly larger E/W wobble in the Zilent V2 is significantly more noticeable when compared to the Boba U4. Gateron Silent Brown Side Notes: The keyboard I will use as a base is the Keychron K8, so at least 88-90 switches are needed. Spring weight I desire is 60-65g bottom out (like Cherry MX Reds). I live in Germany :) In the keyboard switch community, most brands discussed are Cherry MX, Gateron, and Outemu. Even though the said brands are known for manufacturing their switches, they also specialize in producing commissioned keyboard switches for other popular switch brands. One of the most well-known quality switches manufactured by a famous brand, Outemu, is the Gazzew switches. I’m pretty into dampened switches myself. Generally, they do all involve some kind of trade-off between silence and retaining a satisfying feel - though not all the manufacturers do it the same way.Not only is the Boba U4 extremely tactile, it can be more silent and dampened than a membrane keyboard without having a pronounced mushiness. I treated myself with GMK think caps and during the waiting time I thought it would be nice if I'd give my board a worthy upgrade.
