I didn't trust the forehead measurement either, and there are much cheaper forehead thermometers out there anyway. It's the same on the forehead measurement as well, which is disappointing as that was why I bought it (ill babies not being well disposed to being stripped off and a cold thermometer shoved under their armpit). Everything you need comes in the box, including the batteries which means that it can be used straight away. We’ve used Ray in our bathroom recently to see how warm the room has got during the heat wave and we’ve had readings of over 26ºc. inaccurate readings, thermometer shows normal temperature, but measure with another under the arm she had high temperature, and this happened a few times now.

This innovative product is certainly going to make life a lot easier with Thing 3, and as you can have lots of fun with it the girls are also really willing to have their temperature taken so no struggles when it has to be done!

Ray displays ambient room temperature when stood on a shelf and is fun to play with in the bath too. I always trusted my wrist when checking the temperature of a bottle but this takes that away and I can now check what the temperature is exactly, no risk of giving my baby a bottle that's too warm. This product is great as it has multiple uses however I prefer the accuracy of other thermometers for taking body temperatures. You can take your child's temperature un-intrusively by simply pointing the thermometer at their forehead.Ray is adorable and makes bath time safe and enjoyable and is highly recommended from Little Mr and I. Begin by taking out the battery then try boiling the kettle, hold the lens over the steam for a couple of seconds and then clear with a cotton bud as this will remove any earwax, cosmetics, oil or dust that may be causing inaccurate readings. We did follow the instructions and waited well over an hour from bringing it in to the house to using it for the first time.
