Description

Some of the teachers shouldn't even be part of The World's Worst Teachers; like the Sports Teacher, Mr Bulk, and the Head Master, Mr Phobe , who don't even rate as worse teachers, as Mr Bulk (besides telling a lot of stories about how great of an athlete he is) assists his football team in winning the trophy and Mr Phobe is simply scared of teaching children, due to some bullying incidents that he had to deal with earlier on in his career.

Tony Ross - Wikipedia

I enjoyed reading ‘The Slightly Annoying Elephant’ and I really love the fun, lively illustrations by Tony Ross. The story is simple and easy to follow with lots of exaggerated text and pictures which children will love.Additionally, while the humor had its moments, there were times when it felt forced and repetitive, which dampened my overall enjoyment of the book. I also felt that the resolution of the story was somewhat rushed and could have been more developed to provide a more satisfying conclusion.

tony ross Archives - The World of David Walliams

Walliams great theatrical and comical mind goes into overdrive with this collection of ten short stories, many being outlandishly devilish and enjoyable to no end, but I couldn’t help but see many of the stories ending in the same way – with the teacher disappearing out of the school in a variety of ways, maybe this is because all children want rid of their teacher, but for me I found it quite predictable and after a couple it becomes a little (dare I say it) boring. My daughter who is nine also commented on this fact, but still bent over double whilst we read them, and I guess she is more his demographic, rather than a thirty-seven year old who doesn’t want to grow up! Zzz! Swoesj! Kadwaa! Boing!). Verskeie woordspelings het my laat glimlag (Kinders as kunstenaars = KAK) en ‘n situasie in ‘n oorvol detensieklas (‘Hou op in my neus krap! Ek’s vreeslik jammer; ek dog dis myne!’) het my kliphard laat skater. The book is written in a simple and accessible style, making it suitable for young readers. The pacing is generally good, with a brisk pace that keeps the story moving along. The humor is quirky and offbeat, which may appeal to certain readers who enjoy that type of humor. This collection was absolutely perfect. It was such a joy to flip the coin and read about The World’s Worst Teachers instead of the World’s Worst Children, and in my opinion the Teachers are so much worse than the Children. The chance to buy the illustrations will no doubt excite fans as such images are rarely available, not least because the artist donated a vast archive of his work to Seven Stories, the National Centre for Children’s Books, in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.Ross was born on 10 August 1938 in London. His parents are Eric Turle Lee Ross and Effie Ross (née Griffiths). He attended Helsby Grammar School and studied at the Liverpool School of Art and Design. [2] Career [ edit ] I started and finished this book with a smile on my face, and I had more then a few genuine laugh out loud moments. Penguins can’t fly… or can they? In this delightfully topsy-turvy picture book by David Walliams and Tony Ross, baby Geronimo finds out if his wildest dreams can come true.

I read this book with my 7-year-old daughter and I can't say that I enjoyed it much. Walliams appears to have created similar characters in certain stories, just giving them different subjects that they teach; like the Art Teacher, Miss Conceit, and the Drama Teacher, Miss Palaver , who both teach their classes based around themselves.

On the positive side, the book does touch upon themes of friendship and loyalty, and it encourages readers to embrace unexpected adventures and appreciate the value of different perspectives. It also has a positive message about accepting others, even if they may be slightly annoying at times.
